Hayden Panettiere heads to Daydream Nation

"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere has joined the teenage comedy Daydream Nation which was written and will be directed by Michael Goldbach. Kieran Culkin is in talks to join the cast as Panettiere oblivious boyfriend.
Variety reports Daydream Nation has a $10 million budget and is scheduled to start production in the second or third quarter of 2008. It is being produced by Michael Besman, Cameron Lamb of Lila 9th Prods., Lesley Vogel, Emily Gerson Saines of Brookside Artist Management, and the Collective's Sam Maydew.
The Collective's Shaun Redick is set to handle the financing on the film and will handle the North American distribution rights. Odyssey Entertainment is lined up to oversee foreign sales starting in Berlin this week.
