Cotillard to join Public Enemies cast

Los Angeles - Marion Cotillard, who was nominated for an Oscar for role as Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose, is to join Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in Public Enemies, the Depression-era crime drama directed by Michael Mann.
The movie is an adaptation of the Brian Burrough book Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-43. It tells the story of government efforts to stop the notorious criminals John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd.
Depp is playing Dillinger with Bale set to play FBI agent Melvin Purvis. Cotillard will play Billie, Dillinger's singer girlfriend.
Production is due to start later this winter in Chicago and other Midwestern locales.
