Jennifer Hudson in talks for Tyler Perry's Family

Jennifer Hudson is in talks to join the cast of Tyler Perry's the Family That Preys – a drama Perry wrote, will direct, and star in for Lionsgate.
Variety reports Hudson is in talks to join Sanaa Lathan, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard and Rockmond Dunbar on the project. The film is scheduled to start shooting on March 2nd at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
The film’s plot follows two families from different sides of the tracks that becoming involved in love and business. It is the first Perry film with a prominent storyline that involves white characters. Perry will also handle directing duties on the film with Reuben Cannon.
Family marks the sixth partnership between Perry and Lionsgate – which has found continued success at the box office with releases like Why Did I Get Married? and the Madea films. Perry is also set to direct Madea Goes to Jail (based on his stage play). Lionsgate will release Perry's Meet the Browns on March 21st.
