Casting Rumor – Kathy Bates in The Day the Earth Stood Still

Kathy Bates could be joining Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly in the remake of the sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Bloody Disgusting has reported Kathy Bates and Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith have signed for roles in the remake. The film is being directed by Scott Derrickson with shooting taking place in Vancouver, Canada.
The film follows the arrival of an alien who comes to Earth to warn humanity the Earth could be destroyed by another planet.
