Bale in talks to join Depp on Public Enemies

Christian Bale is in talks to join Johnny Depp in Michael Mann’s upcoming drama Public Enemies.
Variety reports Bale is in negotiations for the role of FBI agent Melvin Purvis – who led the manhunt for the capture of John Dillinger. Depp has already signed for the Dillinger role and the film is set to start production at Universal in March.
Mann is producing the film through his Forward Pass with Kevin Misher and his Misher Films. The film is being executive produced by Jane Rosenthal of Tribeca.
