Ashley Tisdale gets her big screen debut with They Came From Upstairs

"High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale is set for her feature film debut with 20th Century Fox's adventure comedy They Came From Upstairs. Ortega / PR PhotosTisdale will be joined on the film by Robert Hoffman, Carter Jenkins, and Austin Butler. The film will also feature Ashley Boettcher and Henri and Regan Young, according to The Hollywood Reporter.They Came From Upstairs was written by Mark Burton and Adam F. Goldberg. It follows a group of teens who have to team up to defend their Maine vacation home from aliens – who have invaded the upstairs.The film is being co-produced by Joe Hartwick Jr. and Marc S. Fischer is handling executive producing duties. It is being co-financed by Fox (who is also distributing the film) and Regency. Production is scheduled to begin at the end of January in Auckland, New Zealand.Tisdale broke big with the role of rich-girl Sharpay Evans in Disney’s "High School Musical" movies. She will handle shooting duties on Upstairs before returning to the Evans role for the third installment of the High School Musical franchise – which could make its way to the big screen for the first time.
