Cate Blanchett and 'Into The Wild' lead the Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations, it was revealed yesterday (20.12.07).

Stunning Cate was nominated for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role award for her role in 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age', while her portrayal of Bob Dylan in 'I'm Not There' garnered her a Female Actor in a Supporting Role nod.

Cate will compete against Angelina Jolie, Ellen Page, Julie Christie in the Female Actor category, and Tilda Swinton, Amy Ryan, Catherine Keener and Ruby Dee in the Female Actor in a Supporting Role category.

Actor-turned-director Sean Penn's 'Into The Wild' has been nominated in three categories - Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for Emile Hirsch's lead role, Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Catherine Keener and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

'Michael Clayton' also has three nominations, while Clooney is up for best actor, his co-stars Tom Wilkinson and Tilda Swinton have both been recognised in the best supporting actor/actress categories.
