Jason Ritter has signed up to join Jess Weixler, Jesse L. Martin and Tracie Thoms for Jay DiPietro's romantic drama Peter and Vandy.

Ritter and Weixler have nabbed the title roles in the film with Martin set to play Peter’s best friend Paul, and Thoms playing his wife, Marissa. DiPietro wrote the screenplay which is an adaptation of his 2002 Drama Desk Award-nominated play.
The film will be DiPietro's debut as a feature director. Producing duties are handled by Peter Sterling and Austin Stark for Cook Street Prods. Matt Parker and Carly Hugo are serving as co-producers for the film. The film is scheduled to be shot in Manhattan and Brooklyn, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Peter and Vandy follows the ups and downs of a young Manhattan couple. The plot jumps to different time periods of their relationship.
