Andy Serkis will reunite with director Peter Jackson with the upcoming Tintin for Dreamworks.

British actor Andy Serkis arrives at the European Premiere of Zach Helm's film 'Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium', held at the Empire Leicester Square in Central London 25 November 2007. In the vividly fantastical world of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium imagination rules and just about anything you can think might be fun can happen. In this toy-store, balls bounce themselves, schools of fish fly through the air, stuffed animals hug back and good homework is instantly morphed into grand rewards and the customers have the wide-open minds to have a blast with it. But when two centuries of wonderment look like they are about to grind to a sudden halt, the store does something even more incredible. It brings a young woman who does not quite believe in herself and a man who claims he does not believe in magic one last chance to discover one of life's greatest gifts: the ability to be awestruck and surprised by possibility. EPA/DANIEL DEMEVariety reports the film, which is set to be the first part of a trilogy, is based on Georges Remi's Belgian comic-strip. Jackson will direct at least one of the trilogy’s films – which will also see Steven Spielberg handling directing duties for at least one film.Serkis and Jackson have had success in the past with the actor providing the human expression and movements behind Jackson’s CG take on Gollum in "The Lord of the Rings" films and Kong for the director’s spin on King Kong. Serkis has officially signed to star in the films, but Dreamworks has not commented on what character or characters he will be bringing to the screen.The film’s plot follows the adventures of Tintin - a reporter who puts his own life in jeopardy to get the good stories. The film is set to start shooting in September.The trilogy will be based on three stories from "The Adventures of Tintin" series by Remi. They will be shot in full digital 3-D using performance capture technology. Jackson's New Zealand-based WETA Digital is set to provide the film’s special effects – which are scheduled to start work before the September shooting. Spielberg and Jackson are also handling producing duties on the films along with Kathleen Kennedy.
