Nicolas Cage takes on Alex Proyas thriller Knowing

Nicolas Cage - The Ghost Rider Photocall at the Santo Mauro Hotel in Madrid - Santo Mauro Hotel - Madrid, Spain © PhotorazziVariety reports Escape Artists partners Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are scheduled to handle producing duties with Aaron Kaplan and Sean Perrone co-producing. Norm Golightly and David Bloomfield are lined up for executive producers.The film was originated by Escape Artists with novelist Ryne Pearson – who handled the pitch and wrote the first draft. The film has undergone several rewrites by Stiles White, Juliet Snowden, Proyas (director of I, Robot) and Stuart Hazeldine.For the film, Cage will handle the role of a teacher who examines the contents of a time capsule unearthed at his son's elementary school. The predictions of the time capsule unravel a mystery that makes him believe the world will end at the end of the week. He further discovers the world’s destruction involves him and his son.
