Enchanted takes top spot in weekend box office

Los Angeles - Disney's fairytale comedy Enchanted was the most watched movie over the extra-long Thanksgiving weekend in the United States, according to studio figures Sunday.
Enchanted, in which Amy Adams plays a princess banned to Manhattan by her kingdom's evil queen, took in more than 50 million dollars from Wednesday to Sunday. The family holiday comedy This Christmas took second place over that period with 27.1 million dollars, while the last week's top earner Beowulf collected 23.3 million dollars to claim third.
Close behind was the action-flick Hitman, taking in 21 million dollars, followed by the continuing hit Bee Movie. The popular animated film took in 16 million dollars and has grossed 112.1 million dollars since opening three weeks ago.
