John Singleton has signed on to direct the thriller Executive Order: Six – which will be financed by Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity. The film is set to start production in early 2008 and is casting now.
Variety reports Executive Order: Six’s screenplay was written by Philip Eisner (1997’s Event Horizon) and is based on a story he wrote with Robbie Consing. It is being produced by Lawrence Bender and Karen Barber.
The film’s plot follows the residents of a small, snowbound town who are forced to work together to fight a mysterious alien horror. The movie will be the first time Singleton has ventured into the extraterrestrial genre.
Singleton is best known for his urban dramas, such as Four Brothers, and has also been attached to direct Tulia with stars Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton. Tulia has been delayed due to Berry's pregnancy.
