Ugh...NO!!!! WHY HER!!! She does not look like Bella!!!!! Stephenie Meyer said she based Bella off of her self, so maybe the person playing her should maybe look like Stephenie. Emily Browning would be a better choice. Even Danielle Panabaker would be a be better choice. No offense... but I say 'NO!!!' to Kristen Stewart.

I can not believe Stephanie Meyer would even give the ok for Kristen Stewart to play Bella. What next they will cast Frankie Muniz for Edward?
The the book stay a fantasy in everyones head, Kristen looks nothing like BBella, and no boy can ever be as perfect as Edward.

Oh my gosh, I just read that they cast Kristen as Bella. I just jumped on the Twilight craze about a month ago and I swear as soon as I started the books I told my mom and sisters that the girl from Panic Room would be the perfect Bella. I am beyond thrilled and so excited because I have been picturing her all along looking like Kristen....she is perfect!! Isn't that so crazy? Now I'm scared that Edward won't be hot enough, keeping my fingers crossed.

Kristen Stewart is an ACTRESS (and a very talented one at that). It doesn't matter the way she looks, it's the way she portrays Bella that counts. Stephenie gives a very brief description of what Bella looks like in the book. As long as Kristen acts like Bella, she'll be Bella. Bella is a made up character, everyone has a different idea of what she looks like. I personally imagined Bella to have softer features, but I think Kristen has the talent to pull her off.

Personally, I'm rooting for Gaspard Ulliel or Tom Sturridge for Edward.

When I read the book, I imagined an 'uglyer' Bella.. I think Kristen whatever is to much of the girl next door! I agree with Danielle Panabaker, she's NOT ugly, but she doesn't look as ordinary pretty as Kristen Stewart..

And I am so scared of who they will pick as Edward...!! I can't imagine anyone who will manage that part! Edward was so special!

Oh, dear.
I am really rather fed up with people using the 'Kristin is an actress' line. Danielle Panabaker is an actress, Emily Browning is an actress, and either of them would have been a better choice for Bella- and yes, they are good actresses also.
Foremost, before anything else is said, I'd like to add that this post is lacking the 'but Bella doesn't look like ME!' syndrome that Stephenie referred too: heavens, I look nothing like Bella anyway so the day would never come when I would be a viable option. I merely have some points to make about the mistake Summit has made in this.

First off, it is an undebatable fact that there are many actors who are good actors in Hollywood. Isn't it obvious that Summit should have looked at personality and looks thereafter? So what prompted Summit to choose Kristin despite her all too generic surfie looks and lack of Bella's unique personality? Physically, Kristen shares none to little similarities with Bella. Bella is meant to stand out, and is beautiful, albeit in an unconventional way. This cannot be said for Kristin.
Additionally, Bella has a distinctive style, as readers of the series are well aware of. Quirky, humorous, klutzy. She exudes uniqueness, none of which is apparent in Kristen. Danielle or Emily could have probably pulled such traits off, but it's unlikely Kristen can. The physical dissimilarities could be overlooked- not the character ones. Many a Twilight fan will be unhappy- perhaps even to the point of boycotting the movie.
Another point about the lack of sense in this casting- I'm supportive of Tom Sturridge for Edward, but it's a rather unlikely option as Summit is said to not be considering foreigners for this role. Ridiculous, considering Stephenie herself states Edward has an English accent.
Conclusively, if Summit butchers the casting, people will assume the movie has been butchered also. Danielle, Emily, or an unknown with given features, characteristics and zing should have been casted- not Kristen with all her 'brand name'. Summit needs to do some damage control, and fast.

I agree with some of the previous comenters, Kristen Stewart will be able to potray Bella well. She is a wonderful actress, and so she will be able to 'become' Bella for the movie. Also, if her not looking like Bella becomes some huge issue (which it shouldn't), there are things called hair dye, and colored contacts. I am just looking foward to when the movie will come out, and am happy that they have started casting.

ok everybody give her a break! She's a GREAT actress and how would u feel if you got this big hollywood role and you read all these comments saying how YOU aren't perfect. Everybody in twilight is a made up CHARACTER your bella probly looks different from steph's bella so lay off. For everybody who say no to her your should be ashamed because you will never be a quarter of the actress she is. Congratz on getting the part Kristen!!!!!

Oh my gosh you guys! What's wrong with you!! Though i was also hoping for emily browning as bella, i still think that kristen is perfect for the part too! She has the beauty I imagine bella has, to me she's also very differnt from other actresses, and she is an awesome actress!! I'm sure that kristen can pull off the bella's character!

I'm all for her. I think she's perfect for the part because she's a great actress and because I think she fits the Bella persona. It doesn't matter if she doesnt' look EXACTLY as 'you' picture her. All that matters is that she fits the discription somewhat. Eyes, hair, and other things like that can be fix. I think that because they cast her as the actress, they're really serious. She's played starring roles in some great movies, and that makes me confident that the movie will turn out really well.

All in all, I say great choice. I think the main reason people don't like her though, is because, underneath it all, THEY want to be Bella. It's as simple as that. And if you don't, and if you hate the actor, my bad. That's just my opinion!
