Ugh...NO!!!! WHY HER!!! She does not look like Bella!!!!! Stephenie Meyer said she based Bella off of her self, so maybe the person playing her should maybe look like Stephenie. Emily Browning would be a better choice. Even Danielle Panabaker would be a be better choice. No offense... but I say 'NO!!!' to Kristen Stewart.
I can not believe Stephanie Meyer would even give the ok for Kristen Stewart to play Bella. What next they will cast Frankie Muniz for Edward?
The the book stay a fantasy in everyones head, Kristen looks nothing like BBella, and no boy can ever be as perfect as Edward.
hey come on give her a break im all for it does it really matter what she looks like?! everyone has their own opinion on what bella looks like and stephenie meyer said they were only suggestions. we should all be happy theyre at least making a movie and we should wish kristen the best of luck. you people havent seen the movie yet so you dont know if she'll make a good bella or not so SHUTUP!
shes right u know
I think that Kristen Stewart is so wrong for the part of Bella.
I SAY NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who's gonna play Edward, Zac Efron? Yeah right.
Get Danielle Panabaker or someone like her.
not kristen!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh, I just read that they cast Kristen as Bella. I just jumped on the Twilight craze about a month ago and I swear as soon as I started the books I told my mom and sisters that the girl from Panic Room would be the perfect Bella. I am beyond thrilled and so excited because I have been picturing her all along looking like Kristen....she is perfect!! Isn't that so crazy? Now I'm scared that Edward won't be hot enough, keeping my fingers crossed.
this is the worst day of my life!
ok first i didnt want a movie and now theyre going to cast her. ok first of all her face is way too strong to play bella. no way. gosh i hoped so much that there wouldnt be a movie. no way.
she's fine for the part.
Kristen Stewart is an ACTRESS (and a very talented one at that). It doesn't matter the way she looks, it's the way she portrays Bella that counts. Stephenie gives a very brief description of what Bella looks like in the book. As long as Kristen acts like Bella, she'll be Bella. Bella is a made up character, everyone has a different idea of what she looks like. I personally imagined Bella to have softer features, but I think Kristen has the talent to pull her off.
Personally, I'm rooting for Gaspard Ulliel or Tom Sturridge for Edward.
When I read the book, I imagined an 'uglyer' Bella.. I think Kristen whatever is to much of the girl next door! I agree with Danielle Panabaker, she's NOT ugly, but she doesn't look as ordinary pretty as Kristen Stewart..
And I am so scared of who they will pick as Edward...!! I can't imagine anyone who will manage that part! Edward was so special!
I think that Gaspard Ulliel would be perfect for Edward is soo... cute :)
Oh, dear.
I am really rather fed up with people using the 'Kristin is an actress' line. Danielle Panabaker is an actress, Emily Browning is an actress, and either of them would have been a better choice for Bella- and yes, they are good actresses also.
Foremost, before anything else is said, I'd like to add that this post is lacking the 'but Bella doesn't look like ME!' syndrome that Stephenie referred too: heavens, I look nothing like Bella anyway so the day would never come when I would be a viable option. I merely have some points to make about the mistake Summit has made in this.
First off, it is an undebatable fact that there are many actors who are good actors in Hollywood. Isn't it obvious that Summit should have looked at personality and looks thereafter? So what prompted Summit to choose Kristin despite her all too generic surfie looks and lack of Bella's unique personality? Physically, Kristen shares none to little similarities with Bella. Bella is meant to stand out, and is beautiful, albeit in an unconventional way. This cannot be said for Kristin.
Additionally, Bella has a distinctive style, as readers of the series are well aware of. Quirky, humorous, klutzy. She exudes uniqueness, none of which is apparent in Kristen. Danielle or Emily could have probably pulled such traits off, but it's unlikely Kristen can. The physical dissimilarities could be overlooked- not the character ones. Many a Twilight fan will be unhappy- perhaps even to the point of boycotting the movie.
Another point about the lack of sense in this casting- I'm supportive of Tom Sturridge for Edward, but it's a rather unlikely option as Summit is said to not be considering foreigners for this role. Ridiculous, considering Stephenie herself states Edward has an English accent.
Conclusively, if Summit butchers the casting, people will assume the movie has been butchered also. Danielle, Emily, or an unknown with given features, characteristics and zing should have been casted- not Kristen with all her 'brand name'. Summit needs to do some damage control, and fast.
I agree with some of the previous comenters, Kristen Stewart will be able to potray Bella well. She is a wonderful actress, and so she will be able to 'become' Bella for the movie. Also, if her not looking like Bella becomes some huge issue (which it shouldn't), there are things called hair dye, and colored contacts. I am just looking foward to when the movie will come out, and am happy that they have started casting.
God No! I don't have any thing aginst her, But don't let her play Bella! She looks to old! Please have Emily Browning play Bella!
ok everybody give her a break! She's a GREAT actress and how would u feel if you got this big hollywood role and you read all these comments saying how YOU aren't perfect. Everybody in twilight is a made up CHARACTER your bella probly looks different from steph's bella so lay off. For everybody who say no to her your should be ashamed because you will never be a quarter of the actress she is. Congratz on getting the part Kristen!!!!!
I think that she is perfect to play the part of bella!!! She has that uncommon beauty that i think bella has. I can't wait until the movie comes out!
Ugh- EWW!! She could never be Bella!! I look more like Bella than her. If shes Bella then there is no way im ever gonna see that movie!!!!
On the Twilight websie Stephenie describes Bella with brown hair, chocolate brown eyes, and a widows peak!! I think it should be Danielle Panabaker!!
Oh my gosh you guys! What's wrong with you!! Though i was also hoping for emily browning as bella, i still think that kristen is perfect for the part too! She has the beauty I imagine bella has, to me she's also very differnt from other actresses, and she is an awesome actress!! I'm sure that kristen can pull off the bella's character!
I'm all for her. I think she's perfect for the part because she's a great actress and because I think she fits the Bella persona. It doesn't matter if she doesnt' look EXACTLY as 'you' picture her. All that matters is that she fits the discription somewhat. Eyes, hair, and other things like that can be fix. I think that because they cast her as the actress, they're really serious. She's played starring roles in some great movies, and that makes me confident that the movie will turn out really well.
All in all, I say great choice. I think the main reason people don't like her though, is because, underneath it all, THEY want to be Bella. It's as simple as that. And if you don't, and if you hate the actor, my bad. That's just my opinion!
Get over yourselves people. It seems to me that you wouldn't like anyone who was cast as Bella. And as far as saying you're not going to the movie if she plays the part of Bella, great! One less person I have to stand behind in line at the theaters! And another thing, yeah, if you don't support the movie, there's no chance of the other movies being produce. So there's another thing for you to thing about.
Everyone who says she's not a good actor is just upset that she doesn't look like them. Come on people, she's not going to look like an 'ordinary teenage girl'. Quit the groaning.
Hell ya to Kristen Stewart! I went to Stephenie Meyer's website for Twilight and when I saw the picture of Kristen Stewart, she shocked me because that's EXACTLY how I see Bella! The only question is, who's gonna play Edward?
NONONONONO! It is not just her looks that don't seem fitting it is her attitude. In every movie I've ever seen her in she has played a moody typical teenager and I don't think this is how ANYONE pictures Bella. POURQUOI!?! Why would they make this wonderful wonderful book into a movie? Never is the movie as good as the book. Well almost never. Tis a rare thing for a movie to have even half the depth and fulfillingness of a book. I know they won't be able to do that for Twilight. There is no one who could capture ANY of the vampires' characters just right. It is just not possible. GAH. I am so upset.
No way should she play Bella! Bella is fragile and delicate, and s not her!
It's kind of funny how people get so worked up over this! Please stop the complaining since it is kind of offensive to not only the actress Kristen Stewart but to the people who are putting in the hard work to make the book come to the big screen. Don't get worked up over something you can't change. It's just a waste of energy. Just accept it. Take the high road. ;)
i wish stephenie meyer could've had some say in the casting. emily browning would've looked so much more like bella... but whatever. maybe once the movie is out, we'll see that kirsten stewart can pull off the part. anyways, apparently shes starred in all sorts of genres of movies, like thrillers and romances and comedies, like the book, so maybe it wont be so bad. im looking on the bright side!
annoying how people can be such pessimists. i mean, really, lots of you probably havent even seen kirsten stewart act. bella looks different to every person, an although i think emily browning would've looked more the part, what matters the most is the actress's ability to act! i mean, seriously people, calm down and be optimistic.
Kristen Stewart.. in my opinion looks too old to be Bella. Bella is supposed to be in highschool. And kristen isn't even pretty. Bella is supposed to be a normal.. pretty.. girl. Even Demi Lavato from Disney's As the Bell Rings, would be a better choice. Who knows who they are going to select for Edward. Probably someone horrible.
this is so dumb. as you can see, if you read all the comments that have been posted thusfar, everyone sees a completely different bella. some people are dissapointed, and some people are happy. please calm down, people. not everyone can be pleased. it all depends on the acting, and kirsten has lots of acting experience. relax. breathe. everything will be alright.
I had really hoped for Emily Browning to play the part of Bella so I'm kind of dissapointed. No, this really sucks. They better choose a better Edward or else I'm going to go mad. She doesn't even look like Bella, but we'll have to see if she plays the part good or not when the movie get's realesed.
I had really hoped for Emily Browning to play the part of Bella so Im kind of dissapointed. No this really sucks. They better choose a better Edward or else Im going to go mad. She doesnt even look like Bella but well have to see if she plays the part good or not when the movie gets realesed.
Oh wow you guys crack me up...and also tick me off. Why are you so upset? Honestly..its just a movie. Yes, I am just as weirdly obbsessed with the Twilight series as you, but I would never get so distressed over it. And I agree that its not only offensive to Kristen but everyone else involved in the movie making process as well, even Stephenie. She cares alot about her readers and when we all liked her books so much and she was offered a movie deal she took it because she hoped we would enjoy it..not freak out about every little detail!
Oh and by the way, I absolutely adore Kristen Stewart! I could not believe my eyes when I saw her on the screen when I pulled up the website. I've seen plenty of her films and liked them all. I especially loved her in Speak, which she played a role that sort of reminds me of Bella. They were both in High School and were quiet and kept to themselves. She can also pull off that awkwardness that is Bella. And you know that you all pictured yourself when reading so the personality is all that matters. I think Kristen Stewart is VERY beautiful with talent and I have faith she can pull it off.
However, Edward is another story....yikes. =/
ok people yeah this pic doesnt look like what we all imagined and such but hey look at this, this way shes a actoress that may have the moxy to play this part and if stephine meyer said that shes ok then by gosh shes ok YOU didnt write the book she did so just chill ok ? geez suck it up just hopefully edward is hot or close to that or i dare say i might be mad thank u peeps ^^
I think Kristin will be great:
She's not girly, she's got a tomboy look to her;
There's nothing goofy or silly about her; she has a smart and serious demeanor;
She's not strikingly beautiful, but her face grows on you and you begin to see that she really is beautiful, but it's not automatic (neither is Bella, according to Bella).
I'm stoked to see this movie, and I can't wait for the Edward pick...
I agree Kristen is sooooo wrong for Bella. I think the movie's gonna make the book sound even better.I wish Danielle Panabaker would play Bella. Kristen looks too tough and plus blond hair??? ugh!!
I can not wait for the movie to come out. Im in love with the books and EDWARD!!! *lol*
I was soooo pissed off when i read that Kristen Stewart was gonna play Bella...she looks way too old, her lips aren't big and her face is soo i dunno not soft and pretty. She is probably a great actress and would be great but when i watch the movie there will just be something...wrong. And what if she can't blush everytime she wants!! That waould be terrible, a non-blushing bella! This is crazy! I wish her the best of luck but if they did THIS bad casting Bella then what about the cullens?(EDWARD!) She was the easiest one to cast! I think i'm going on strike, i refuse to watch the movie!
I think Kristen is soo bad for the part of Bella!! I think Danielle Panabaker would be a better choice!! personally, i think Drew Fuller would make an AMAZING Edward! don't you???
I always imagined Bella to look more like Alexis Bledel.
I think she would be perfect for the part. But Kristen Stewart will be a perfectly good Bella. In the end, its more about if she can play the part, not just look it. (Not that she really does look it that much.) Stephenie Meyer has no real say in who gets to play who. She'll just have to live with the choices they make, just like we will. If you really don't want there to be a movie.. then don't see it.
Thats who they got to play Bell?!! Are they serious?? Kristen stewart is so so so so so wrong for that part. and it does matter what she looks like! everyone has their idea of Bella and Kristen is so not even close to being good enough. I cant believe this!
I am so wanting to know who they get for edward. there is no one one earth gorgeous enough to play him! lol
I think she'll be a good actress for Bella because she's different from all the model's and other actresses, and she has experience. Plus, she's been in so many other genres, she'll be able to handle all the different moments in the plot line. And if you're not going to see the movie just because of who the cast is, then you're not true Twilight fans, because if you were, you would endure it just so you could compare the actors to the people in your head and see what Stephanie Meyer has to say about it. Besides, if you've ever seen 'Step Up' you'll know why I can say that this movie should be pretty good. They're not going to cast cheaply, so everyone needs to stop whining. Bella is a FICTIONAL character, so no one's version of her is the same. And, Edward can't be perfect, because no one is perfect. So please, suck it up and either see the movie, or don't see the movie. Just don't diss her, if she doesn't have the right confidence boost, she'll never be able to be at her full potential as Bella. And, guys, contacts and professional make up artists and computer editting are here for a REASON.
I think she's perfect!!! LOOK AT HER!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY
I hope the movie is half as good as the books (which are awesome BTW)! I would be so freakin' disapointed if they totaly ruined my favorite book for me by trashing the plot and adding crap lines to it! but whoevers creating this, they have to know that its going to so make major money... i mean, who has not read this book and love it ( besides my mother)!
There is no way that they will find someone hott enough ,and with enough acting abilites to carry the role, to play Edward. We will all just have to set ourselves up for the dissapointment of a not so smexy Edward.
but anyway... have you looked at the picture of Kristen with her hair brow? if she acts well enough, she might just be able to pull it off...
I soooo dont think that kristen should play as bella.. i think emily browning would be a better choice!!!
I can't believe they would even think of her to play the role. That just ruined the books for me.
my god, people, kristen will be just fine. bella is fictional, so obviously no actress is gonna look just right, and plus, everyone sees her completely differently, so no matter who they cast, people are gonna be dissapointed. so theres no reason o freak out and be all like, 'oh, im not gonna see the movie because she doesnt look like bella.' its really just the acting that matters.
by the way, the books are INCREDIBLE. if the movie is half as good, ill be satisfied. so excited!
I would have never thought that Bella would look like Kristen Stewart. Emily Browning seemed to fit the part MUCH better. They will never get someone to play Edward's part PERFECTLY so I don't have my hopes up for that. The book will ALWAYS be better than the movie anyways.
Okay keep complaining, I'm sure it will make a differince. =/
But someone mentioned Drew Fuller for Edward and I looked him up. I must say he is mighty gorgeous. Yes, no one could ever compare to each of our own Edwards but I confess that if he was chosen I would be extremely happy! Hes not a big name star, which I like, and he has also done a vampire movie in the past,Vampire Clan, and he really pulled it off..and he was quite sexy from what I remember..ooh imagining him with bronze colored hair though...mmm delicious! I think hes a little too old but I think the book described Edward looking older than 18 anyway, so he may work.
Edward is the only one in the cast I truly care about. I just really hope they get him right..Bella and everyone else isnt THAT important. But thats just me..
NO!!!!!! Bella has to be played by Alexis Bedel!!!! And Edward by Milo Ventimiglia! It just has to be!!!!
Type in kyokerokat on youtube and click twilight trailer! This person (whoever they are is GENIUS!)
See! Follow that and you'll understand.
I LOVE EDWARD AND DAVID!
I think that Emily Browning would've been a far better choice. Kristen Stewart is just not right for the part, no offense. She was good in Zathura, but she just isn't fit for the position of Bella. And you guys are right, no one can completely fill the expectations, especially for Edward, but she could do a good job maybe. I do wish they would've casted Emily... she was perfect. Edward might be a better person, though of course, disagreements will always exist. The best of luck to the cast and the fans cannot wait for it to come out.
And hang in fans, it will be sooner than you expect.
Kristen does look a tad old, and she has blue eyes and different colored hair, but she has some potential. And everyone is not going to agree on who got casted all of the time, but people need to relax and go with the flow. You are critisizing when you do not even know how it will turn out. And I, like everyone else, did have a hope.
In my preference, I would have picked Emily Browning because of not only her appearence, but I've seen her in other movies, such as Lemoney Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Stranded, and Darkness Falls, and even though she was young she pulled off each and every role beautifully.
But in life, you have to work with what is thrown at you, and in this case it is an unfortunate role choice in a movie, but it is not written in stone. She could end up pulling off the role with ease. So hang in there, and look forward to the release of TWILIGHT, cause i know i will.
I hope their casting choice for Edward doesn't make me cry, because I am infatuated with him like every other Twilight fan is, and my heart couldn't take a bad actor.
Team Edward.
What is up with this i haven't even heard of her till now.... why are they doing this r they trying to ruin the movie because if so there doing a great job at it !!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok guys, Stephenie Meyer herself even stated that everyone has their own opinion of what Bella looks like. And that is natural. So really it doesn't matter what YOU think she looks like, only that the girl they've chosen fits enough. Which she definitely does. She has played roles in every genre that Twilight has in it. And I'm sorry but Pannabaker looks all wrong, and Brownings lips would sink the titanic plus she was a pretty bad in Series of Unfortunate Events. I think Stewart was a smart choice. And if your a TRUE fan of Twilight then you will live with this decision. But like it or not your opinion doesn't really matter. Can't wait for the film!!!!! =D
okay ! why are you people like that.. like who really cares if Kirsten was chosen for Bella's part. Its not like you can do anything about it anymore. Shes chosen for the part and thats that. I think she will do great in the movie, and its just a movie!! soo whatever
uhhh wow, didn't expect this one coming. but uhh, I think she can do it =D
I was actually looking forward to see emily or ... Danielle Panabaker as Bella for God's sake ! ... sigh .. But I've seen this actress in some movies (cold creek manor and the messenger) and i think, she's good at acting and can pull this off =D
But pleaasee let Gaspard Ulliel be Edward Cullen ... Why? well, DUH ! Just loo0k at him
ugh u know stephenie meyert DIDN'T get to pick, but personally, i think that unless they pick YOU to play bella(everybody in the world wishes they were her) then you won't be happy. just be happy with the choice they made, which is a great choice BTW, and move on with your life.
I think she will be perfect.
She has this matureness about her that I have failed to see in Danielle Panabaker and Emily Browning.
And also, she DOES look like Bella is supposed to. DP and EB look FAR too young.
I say don't judge a book by its cover. If she could make me like her in a movie as crappy as the Messengers, she quite obviously has talent.
i am so excited that twillight will be a movie! kristen stewart...not so much. i imagined bella with softer features, shorter, and just totally different. but who cares? they dont' they're getting money off her. that's all they care about.
i think that kristen stewart would do a good job as bella. shes not gorgeous or model-like so she'll fit bella's description. plus, what really matters here is who will be EDWARD!!! we all know that no one they would have picked for bella's part would satisfy us, because we are the ones that are supposed to be there with PERFECT EDWARD. I REALLY REALLY REALLLY HOPE THEY DON'T PICK ZAC EFRON OR SOMEONE LIKE THAT FOR EDWARD'S PART. That would really break my faith in movies.
Hm.
Well, I think Emily Browing would have been a better choice.
But, y'know, I guess Kristen's okay, even though she has a bit too... prominent features for Bella, in my opinion.
Her nose is too prominent, and her face isn't heart-shaped... but that is a petty thing to look at, I s'pose.
I don't think Kristen can pull off the awkwardness Bella IS, though.
I dunno. Emily was my hope. Too bad.
mmmmmk, i'm disagreeing and agreeing with both sides. first off, no one really knows what bella looks like, and its not like the casting crew is going to cast whoever YOU want just because thats what bella looks like in your head, buuuut, some people are...pressing, on who bella should be portrayed as looks wise, and if people aren't satisfied, because, obviously her looks are very important, then the movie won't seem very good to people. some people might not even wanna see it because they don't like the actors. Although i must say, the edward situation may be slightly more understandable. if he's not super hot like it says he is in the book and i go to see the movie, then its going to give me a permanent image of the casted actor in the movie's face in my head whenever i read the book. and honestly, i LIKE the edward in my head! i would marry the dude! personally though, i think henry cavill is the perfect edward, he just LOOKS charming ya know? but thats just my opinion:P
ok look, something that i've noticed is that some people are concerned with the fact that they think kristen is too old, but c'mon poeple! there are plenty of movies where the actors are way too old for their character, but they sure make it LOOK like they're the age they're supposed to be! like racheal mcadams in mean girls and the notebook and that other one with the funny dude, she's supposed to be playing a 17-18 year old in all movies at one point atleast in those movies and she's what 32? late 20's? mid 20's? the point is is that she wasn't the age of the character but they made it look like she was, and her acting abilities also help. i say that age doesnt matter in this case, as long as they can pull off moods and characteristics, in both personality and looks, then bring 'em on!....p.s.,they just can't be old.....or wrinkly.... hope there wasn't any confusion there....not trying to contradict myself. but hey, you all know what i meant right? you got the point? ? ?
Ok yeah, I get your point, but, in my opinion, Emily Browning is a better choice, but i agree with you (I heart T. and justafan), Kristen isn't too old and no one knows what Bella really looks like. For me though, looks are important and oh, just a fan, you are NOT alone. If I go to see that movie, I think I will have a permanent image of the 'new' Bella in my head when the fourth book comes out and I'm not going to like it! I think Emily looks more like Bella, and from her movies, I think she can pull off the atmosphere and character-like qualities of Bella. Although, even SHE isn't MY perfect Bella, but she definitely comes close, she's got potential. I hope they pick Henry Cavill as Edward too! When I saw that on S.M.'s website I was like OMG! :D I think he would be perfect too just a fan, I think he would be perfect too.;)
Alexis Bledel or Emily Browning.....all the way my friends.
While I don't think that Kristen's looks suit Bella, I think that she may still do a good job on portraying her. And even if she is totally unsuited to the part, I know that alot of us will still go see the movie. And we will complain about how its not true to the book, but in the end, many of us will buy it anyways.
So lets just wait and see what happens. The real test will be who is cast as Edward. I just pray its not a current teen hearthrob.
Kristen will probably do a great job, from what i've heard she is an excellent actress. Now i'm actually looking forward to the movie.
And for everyone saying that Kristen doesn't look like Bella. Well, how would any of us really know? Stephenie Meyer describes Bella in the book as having brown hair (a little reddish in the sun), pale skin and being short. Sound familiar? Yeah it's Kristen Stewart.
If she's not what you imagined then still give her a go because it doesn't really matter how she looks now. She'll look more Bella-rish in the movie (that's what all the crew is for) and still it's her acting as Bella that matters most.
Now i'm going back to being a nervous wreck, waiting for Edward to be officially cast! Please Summit, put me out of my misery!
i think she will be okay. i like her better then the other ones. its worse with edward who is going to play him. no one is better then henry cavill!!!!!
no one likes her as Bella. why can she relize that. this chik is all whrong. she looks nothign like how Bella should. seriously, their going to kill the book with their casting. they shouldn't even make the movie. there going to ruin it. just like hollywood does for every book. exspect things not in the book or just compleatly wrong. oh and Gaspard Ulliel should be Edward.
I think she'll do a great job in the role.
I don't know what to think. She doesn't look how i pictured her, but I'll shut up about that. I've only seen her in Zathura, and her character in that was nothing like Bella, so I can't judge.
But Edward... I haven't seen anyone who looks like Edward. I can't even imagine him... :|
NO WAY!! Kristen Stewart is beautiful dont get me wrong. but she is not right for Bella. maybe if you take off her make-up and cut her hair blunt you can work with it...but i say NO WAY
i'm not totally against kristin stewart, but she would definitely not be on my top 50 list. her face is too long and pointy to play bella in my opinion. but i don't care who plays bella, as long as they cast a perfect edward(coughcough gaspardulliel coughcough).
read alexis's comment on page 2-
alexis-
i think you need to take an extra-strength chill pill. first off, who cares what you think!!! i'll bet 95% of the people commenting don't even want to be an actor/actress!!! so if that's what you call an insult, you must be pretty dumb
everyone else-
go gaspard ulliel!!!!
She really REALLY does NOT suit Bella! I can;t believe they casted her, she looks way too old! Does anyone know who has been casted for Edward?
OMG!!!! she does NOT look like bella, but let's be reasoning here..........who does??? Everone's opinion is different of her and no matter who Stephenie Meyer picked everyone would still say that same thing 'NOOOOO' but thats how it is! but lets be serious even if stephenie Meyer picked...a HOBO to be bella well, heres a news flash for ya 'THERES MAKE IN THE WORLD!!!! SHE CAN BE FIXED!!!' but rele..... she picked who she picked and that's, that!! We are just going to have to deal with it and just wait and see who EDWARD is going to be.....THATS going to be something! but whatever...... Bella is going to be Kristen Stewart and theres nothing we can do about! Even how much the fans disagree...Kristen Stewart is Bella (...... NOOOOO!!!) but it's gonna happen and we're gonna suck it up!!!! UGH!!!!!
ok, so maybe she's not perfect! you know what, at first glance, she may not seem like bella. she's too like, trying-pretty. know what i mean? but think of her straightening her hair, and making a curtain with her hairm and edward nrxt to her? can you kindof see it?
ok, maybe if I wasn't being nice. i would say No Way! I mean, she doesn't really look at bella!
Who knows, I mean, you haven't seen her act as Bella. Maybe we should give her a shot. Besides, obviously she isn't how -you- pictured.
I think that she is pretty and all but why her?
Bella does not eaven look like her,
and I know it is not stepanies fault.
I hope they dont pick a person that does not look like edward because nobody looks like him.
you guys should stop complaining, sure she isn't the Bella we've been waiting for but atleast she can act. But if they don't pick Gaspard Ulliel or someone like him, i'll die........not really......but they better!
I actually always thought of Alexis Bedel as Bella but since Kristen was given the part, I think she will also do a remarable job as Bella. The main character I'm wondering about is Edward. Who's in the world could be that perfect????
Stephanie Meyer's Physical description of Bella: 'Bella is very fair-skinned, with long, straight, dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her face is heart-shaped—a wide forehead with a widow’s peak, large, wide-spaced eyes, prominent cheekbones, a thin nose and a narrow jaw with a pointed chin. Her lips are a little out of proportion, a bit too full for her jaw line. Her eyebrows are darker than her hair and more straight than they are arched. She’s slender but not at all muscular, and weighs about 115 pounds. She has stubby fingernails because she has a nervous habit of biting them.' (source: the Twilight Lexicon Character Bios)
Okay, so let's do a little side-by-side comparison:
1. Fair skin: All three girls have this
2. Long straight dark brown hair: Kristin Stewart
3. Chocolate eyes: well there's always contacts, so any of them
4. Heart shaped face: Either Kristin or Danielle
5. A widows peak: none
6. Large wide spaced eyes: Danielle
7. Prominent Cheek bones: Kristen
8. Thin nose: Kristen
9. Narrow Jaw: Kristen
10.Pointed Chin: Kristen
11.Full lips: Danielle
12.Dark straight eyebrows: Kristen
13.Slender: Kristen (no offence to Danielle or Emily)
14.no muscle: Kristen (no offence Kristen)
Score:
Kirsten Stewart: 7 absolutes with with 3 possibilities
Danielle Panabaker: 2 absolutes with 3 possibilities
Emily Browning: 0 absolutes with 2 possibilities.
As for all the 'how could Stephanie let this Happen's
1) 'I did not choose Kristen Stewart to play Bella. Summit films choose her. I’m happy with their choice, but it was never up to me.' (source:Twilight lexicon homepage)
To all the true fans out there, I think we should respect the Author's wishes and support the actors chosen and keep an open mind. No one is ever going to fit 'your image.'
Also, for those of you who say there should never be a movie, get over it! That's a terrible thing to say, it is an insult to Stephanie Meyer and to all the people who are working hard to bring the dedicated fans a decent movie.
There's nothing wrong with her, it wasnt like they were going to pick the Bella you pictured in your head (people who arent happy about Kristen being Bella), or you yourself.
How about you be happy for Stephenie Meyer that her Twilight Saga got this big, and is getting bigger. YAY STEPHENIE!
And plus, thats what acting is. Jessica Alba isnt clumsy, but she still acted as the clumsy girl in 'Good Luck Chuck'. She didnt have to be clumsy or have the exact same personality as their part. So Kristen can ACT like Bella. She doenst have to have the same style, thats the costume designer's job.
It doenst really matter who Bella is in the movie, if she's perfect or not. Summit's not going to change it, so why dont you find something good about her and live with it?
Don't make the movie bad because you dont like the Bella Summit casted. She's still going to be actress for Bella, not really Bella herself, nobody knows Bella herself other than Stephenie Meyer. If there was one to complain, it would be Stephenie.
Accept it, live with it, find something good about Kristen, and see the movie so Stephenie can be a big success. It could've been worse. So lookg at the bright side and see the movie anyway :)
She's perfectly fine for Bella.
i actually almost started to cry when they posted that about kristen
SHE CANT PLAY THE PART.
im actually considering not even seeing the movie now .
its soooo upsetting.
if i were stephanie i would cancel the movie all together
i know she has to be upset to ,
shes soooo wrong for the part.
its depressing.
I think we should wait and give her a chance and see how she acts. You never know she might turn out to be a perfect Bella.
But edward had to be a Great looking person no matter what!
THe only reason she doesn't look like Bella is because she's blonde in this picture. Google her and you'll see that she looks a little like Bella with brown hair. Obviously, she's going to have to dye it for the movie. SHe is too pretty though.
She so dosent work. this is not what i expected at all. Me and my friends dont belive she will pull off Bella and i so agree. I would be a better bella than her, i mean really. And i'm scarded to death of who there going to pick for Edward. If its not someone i believe will stay true to Edward (and thats hard) i wont see it and me and my friends will boycott the movie. who's with me?
OMG..............She cantttttttttt be bella...shes nutihng like the Bellla in the book...the movie just wont be the sameeee
wow, i am soooo scared how this movie is going to turn out. if the main character in a movie is bad, they bring the whole movie down with it. that is what i think is going to happen to twilight with kristin stewart in it. don't give me any of that 'oh, give her a chance, she'll be good, don't worry' crap, she is sooo not right for this role and i don't care what any of you people think (unless you agree with me). anyways, the only way this movie will have a sliver of a chance, is if gaspard ulliel plays edward. so all you people out there who agree with me, comment and say you agree with laura. i agree with no way! and if you agree with us, comment with our names.
What are you people, Five?
Summit chose someone who very closely resembled the description of Bella given in the books. (see my comment above)
Stephanie Meyer has NO control over the cast, crew or anything, she can't 'cancel the movie' or 'change the cast' She sold the film rights, meaning she no longer has any right to any aspect of the movie. Get over it.
You would not be a better bella no matter how much better you fit the description or how much more you 'understand' her character. You probably can't act half as well as the actress chosen, since she's been acting most of her life.
Boycotting the movie is retarded. Not only are you not supporting your love and admiration for Stephanie Meyer's books, but you'll be cheating yourself out of an experience that I'm sure will not be half as bad as you think it will.
Professionals chose professionals to bring you the best movie possible, so why don't you all put on your big girl panties and deal with the fact that 'your Bella' or 'you personally' did not get picked to play the part.
Decide where you stand now, if you don't go see the movie simply cause you don't think the cast is good, then you certainly cannot call yourselves 'true fans' of the Twilight series, because true fans would be supportive. It's what Stephanie wants, which any of you would know if you browsed her website, or the Twilight Lexicon.
You don't care about what's best for the books or the author, you're selfish, and you want it to be done your way or else your going to throw your little temper tantrums. News Flash: Summit isn't going to miss your $20 or your friend's $20. It's out of your hands, so get over it.
And thankyou all for reminding me why it was against my better judgment to jump on the fan band wagon with a bunch of runny nosed selfish brats who only fit the 'young' part of 'young adult'.
I dont think either Emily Browning or Kristen Stewart should be picked to ply the role of Bella. Bella is meant to be seen as fragile and weak, a human in Edward's eyes. Emily's face is too rounded, giving her theopposite look of fragile. Kristen's nose is too thin and pointy, her teeth resembling a rat's. I think Alexis Bledel would be a good candidate for the role of Bella. But what can I do? She has already been hired and they're apparently not changing their minds. I'll just hope that the actor they choose for Edward better resembles my own mental picture. I think that even if the people that they choose dont really fit, then we'll just have to deal with it. I'd rather the roles be distorted instead of the actual storyline. Blood and Chocolate was completly a distortion of the actual story. I dont want that to happen with this movie, especially when this series are my favorite books. I think Chase Crawford or Tom Welling would better fit the role for Edward than some of the others who were suggested. All in all, i'll definitely be excited to watch this movie!
omg i started the twilight series craze along with one of my closest friends Sharon, we spend endless hours talking bout the series and the possiblities of the cast for the movies etc...
but i gotta admit, Kristen is pretty, but not really the way i imagined her! >< hm.. i surpose the translucent skin is... true? but Kristen looks too um... 'strong headed?' to play bella..
hey but check out the pic thats posted on stephanie meyer's official site, she looks a bit better there... well, beter than the picture here i think...
and omg, i cant wait to know who they'll cast for edward and jacob! they better b as hot as i imagined them! i totally looove them
I hope she knows what she's doing. Yes, she's played in a variety of movies, but does she know how to play Bella? Has she read the books and absorbed herself into Bella's life? I sure hope so. I, personally, think that the movie will be terrible and that they shouldn't make one at all. Even if the cast captures their characters, it just won't be the books. *sigh* As long as Kristen dyes her hair brown and doesn't act too flirty (she's been known to in her roles), I'll be okay. And Edward, for goodness sakes! I heard that Gaspard Ulliel may be cast and I'm cringing. Again, I just hope they both capture their characters and act their hearts out. :)
i don't think the movie can be as good as the books. As far as Bella goes i guess she is ok... but how are they going to do edward? The beauty of him is that you can bend him to fit what your perfect amazingly beuatiful family would look like. ANd how are they giogn to do jacob. A fifteen year old indian who is over 6' for the majority of the books? No way!
I almost think Kristen Stewart is to pretty... bella is suppose to be plain, normal like all of us, another one of the beauties of her books.... you can put urself in the place easily
I really do like Kristan Stewarts she is a great actress but mabey look for more options
i think she is good enough for the part, i mean physicly maybe she doesn´t look like bella but if she can get into character i think she can pull it off. But ,i´m serious, if she doesn´t read the book she will NEVER be able to get into character
um for one thing stephani meyer has no say in who plays who. its up 2 the people who are makein tha movie. i wanted emily browning 2 be bella 2 but kristen stewart is good 2! so stop bumpin ur gums and shut up!
the director needs someone with a less strong face . danielle panabaker is my #1 choice right now. this kristen girl looks too beautiful and mature to play clumsy, sugary, lovestruck bella.
P.S. I imagined edward as a young drew fuller.
The girl who played ENCHaNTED could work as Bella. But who knows, maybe kristen will surprize us all?
I think that it wouldn't have mattered who they chose. millions of people wouldnt be happy because we all saw her differently. The only girl that i thought was remotely close was Emily Browning, but even then she wouldn't look like the Bella i had pictured.
I say give Kristen a chance. She might work the part really well.
