New Line looks to LaBute and Hackford for The Woman Next Door

Neil LaBute and Taylor Hackford have been picked by New Line to tackle The Woman Next Door – a remake of Francois Truffaut’s 1981 film "La Femme d'a cote." Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford -

Ted Fields is expected to produce the film - with Hackford and Frederic Golchan.The Woman Next Door will mark the first time LaBute has taken on writing duties for another director, but he is not scheduled to start the project until after the WGA strike is finished.LaBute is currently putting the final touches on his Screen Gems thriller Lakeview Terrace – which stars Samuel L. Jackson and Patrick Wilson. Hackford is also set to direct Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci in Love Ranch – a drama for Capitol Films. Casting for The Woman Next Door has yet to be announced.
