Hong Kong - Filming of the latest Batman film in Hong Kong suffered its latest hitch when crowds flocking to see their hero threatened to disrupt filming, news reports said Saturday. EPA/YMMore than 500 fans had gathered to catch a glimpse of stars Christian Bale, who plays the caped crusader, and Morgan Freeman during filming Friday at one of Hong Kong's oldest markets. But tempers became frayed as security personnel and plain-clothed police struggled to contain the crowd in busy lunch-hour traffic. At one point a member of the film crew lashed out at Hong Kong's Film Services Office representatives, calling for more police help, said the Hong Kong Standard. Friday's chaos was the latest hitch faced by producers of The Dark Knight, the latest in the Batman series. Earlier in the week, they angered environmentalists by asking owners of harbour-front sky-scrapers to keep on their lights to illuminate the city during late filming. Residents have complained about noise pollution caused by low flying aircraft in some film scenes. One media report suggested that one scene in which Batman jumped into Victoria Harbour had to be dropped after tests on the water proved it was too toxic even for a superhero. The report was later denied at a press conference by director Christopher Nolan, who said the decision to ditch the scene had nothing to do with pollution. Filming of the movie, featuring Batman in his first scenes set outside the mythical Gotham City, will continue until November 12. One of the major outdoor stunts involves Batman leaping from Hong Kong's tallest building, the International Finance Centre (IFC), while the Peninsula Hotel will be used for other scenes. © 2007 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur

I am an American living in Hong Kong and in Shenzhen China and I was there that day for the filming on that Friday on the escalator on Lyndhurst Terrace and from what I know things went pretty well. Everyone was excited to see the shoot and the actors/director.

I heard that the actors like Hong Kong and its incredible skyline. We all do. Hong Kong is a great city. It has everything.

Glad to know that 'the Bat' decided to go there. Cool.

Christian is gorgeous, I would go anywhere to see him, well not actually, but I will do anything just to look at him. He's beautiful, I have a major crush on him and that smile of his is to 'die' for. Not to mention those sexy hands of his. It's sad how much I adore and like him.
