As well as Shark Tale stills we also had a bit of a spree with Warner Independent films. You can see new high resolution stills from Criminal, The Jacket, A Very Long Engagement, Eros (The Dangerous Thread of Things, Equilibrium and The Hand) as well as Around the Bend.
Just visit the photo index page here to check them out. You can get details on each via the info tab on the same page as the images are displayed.
Criminal is out now on a limited release and is being well received. John C. Reilly (Chicago), Diego Luna (Y Tu Mama Tambien) and Maggie Gyllenhaal (Secretary) star in a contemporary caper movie set in Los Angeles. It's the story of an extremely odd couple: a young Latino man who will do anything for his family (Luna) and a 30-something scheming white guy who will do anything to his family (Reilly). One wants to save his father. The other wants to get rich, in any way possible.
The Jacket is not out until next year and is a psychological thriller about a military veteran who returns to his native Vermont suffering from bouts of amnesia. When he is accused of murder and lands in an asylum, a well-meaning doctor puts him on a heavy course of experimental drugs, restrains him in a jacket-like device, and locks him away in a body drawer of the basement morgue.
A Very Long Engagement is a very different love story based on the acclaimed novel by Sebastien Japrisot. Screenplay adaptation by Jean-Pierre Jeunet & Guillaume Laurant. The film is set in France near the end of World War I in the deadly trenches of the Somme, in the gilded Parisian halls of power, and in the modest home of an indomitable provincial girl. This one does not have a clear release date yet, but we think the end of October.
Eros is a three-part anthology film about love and sexuality by three directors from three disparate cultures. It is due out September 16th.
Finally Around the Bend follows four generations of men are suddenly brought together by the chance to uncover the truth about their family’s past. It’s a journey that takes them out on the road to a world full of surprises – some comic, some dramatic, and all of them personal.
It stars Christopher Walken and Michael Caine. It is due for release Octboer 15th. One of our reviewers saw this earlier in the week and first indications are good. A full review over the weekend.
