Gabriel Macht is set to play the lead in 'Will Eisner's The Spirit.'

Gabriel Macht is set to play the lead in 'Will Eisner's The Spirit.' © Glenn Harris / PhotorazziFrank Miller is set to direct the comic-book adaptation from his own script.Variety reports that Macht will play the title character. The Spirit fakes his own death so he can fight crime in Central City. In the film he comes up against the Octopus, who is set on wiping out the entire city.Lionsgate have also hinted they will make more than one 'Spirit' film.Lionsgate and Odd Lot Entertainment are set to begin filming this October, eyeing a 2009 release.
