Sarandon will play the character of Grandma Lynn. EPA/JUSTIN LANEAccording to The Hollywood Reporter Sarandon will play the character of Grandma Lynn.The film, based on Alice Sebold's novel of the same name, is seen from the perspective of a young girl who has been raped and murdered as she looks on from the afterlife.She watches her family as they cope with their grief--her father embarks on a search for the killer, her sister undertakes a feat of amazing daring, her little brother builds a fort in her honour--and begin the difficult process of healing. Already cast are cast also includes Ryan Gosling and Saoirse Ronan.Jackson will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh. Shooting is set to start this October in Pennsylvania and New Zealand.
