Casting for 'Watchmen'

Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Malin Akerman have been cast in Warner Bros. adaptation of DC Comics' 'Watchmen.'
According to The Hollywood Reporter the film, set in an alternate USA, will follow costumed hero Rorschach, who operates as a vigilante after most of the costumed heroes have retired or been banned.
While investigating a murder, Rorschach learns that a former masked-hero colleague has been killed, prompting him to begin investigating a possible conspiracy.
Crudup has been cast as Dr. Manhattan, Akerman as Laurie Juspeczyk/the Silk Spectre, Goode Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias, Wilson the Nite-Owl and Morgan will play the Comedian.
An adaptation had been in the early stages at Paramount but the studio pulled the plug.
Zack Snyder ('300') is directing with Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Deborah Snyder producing.
Filming on 'Watchmen' is due to begin this autumn in Vancouver.
