Dermot Mulroney will join Greg Kinnear in Universal's forthcoming drama 'Flash of Genius.'
Variety reports the movie will tell the story of Robert Kearns, who owned a chain of auto-part stores and invented the intermittent windshield wiper. Kearns, played by Kinnear, went on to sue Detroit carmakers over patent infringement. Mulroney has been cast as Gil Privick, best friend of Kearns.
Marc Abraham is directing from a screenplay he wrote with Philip Railsback and Scott Frank.
Filming is underway in Toronto.

There were no auto part stores! He went to school at night to get his engineering degree, while working during the day and raising kids, and her had a dream. He had a vision. Get your facts straight.
