Casting announced for 'Step up 2 the Streets'

Briana Evigan, Robert Hoffman, Telisha Shaw, Adam G. Sevani and singer-actress Cassie have been cast in 'Step up 2 the Streets,' the sequel to Touchstone/Summit Entertainment's 'Step Up.'
The movie is described as a coming-of-age dance film. Set at the Maryland School of the Arts, the film will follow dance student Patrick and rebellious new student Andie.
The studio is also holding a competition on MySpace. Would-be singers and dancers are invited to upload their audition tapes to the movie's MySpace page. The filmmakers will then select some finalists, with MySpace user then able to vote for the winner. Winning dancers will appear in the film either in a group or solo. Singers will record a song for the soundtrack, while other audition tapes may be played while the credits roll.
Jon Chu will direct with filming starting this week.
