Morgan Freeman’s Revelation shingle is set to produce ‘The Human Factor’, a drama set in South Africa after the fall of apartheid.
Freeman and his production partner Lori McCreary will produce with Mace Neufeld from a script by South African writer Anthony Peckham (Don't Say a Word).
Script is based on the John Carlin book “The Human Factor: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Changed the World.”
Freeman will star as former South African President Nelson Mandela in 1995, when South Africa hosted the Rugby World Cup which Mandela used to help end decades of mistrust and hatred between whites and blacks.
Freeman and McCreary traveled to South Africa last year to discuss the project with Mandela.
"I have known Nelson Mandela personally for quite some time, and am continually in awe of his enormous presence in the world," Freeman is quoted as saying. "The opportunity to portray him in this film is a great honor."
No director or other casting was announced.
