Mischa Barton will star alongside Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton in a new dark comedy.
The former 'O.C.' actress will appear in 'The Sophomore', which also stars Bruce's 18-year-old daughter Rumer.
The film, which will be directed by music video veteran Brett Simon, has been described as a teenage take on 'Chinatown'.
Mischa will play the most popular girl in a Catholic high school who persuades a sophomore reporter to investigate the theft of some exam papers.
Rumer Willis will take the role of Mischa's troublesome sidekick, with Bruce as the school's twisted principal - a war veteran who refuses to let go of his glory days.
Rumer made her screen debut aged just five opposite her mother Demi Moore in the film 'Now and Then'.
This isn't the first time Rumer has starred alongside her father. The pair played onscreen father and daughter in 2005 thriller 'Hostage'.
Mischa is best known for her role as Marissa Cooper in 'The O.C.' but has a number of film projects lined up for the rest of the year, including 'St. Trinian's', which also stars Colin Firth and Rupert Everett.

Screw this movie. the shoot today was over 12 hours and affected all of the residents of the street they used. crew telling people they can't come out of homes, rude & insensitive cops taking their grief out on everyone, and a total disruption without prior warning or compensation. Bayonne, the movie crew & Vinny (one of worst ever to wear a badge) failed the people living on the street they used to film today.
