New Haven Connecticut, here comes Hollywood.
According to Cynopsis and a fan site of Steven Spielberg, an open casting call for the new Indiana Jones movie will take place June 11 and 12 at the Omini Hotel between 1 and 9 pm each day.
Actual filming of the Steven Spielberg directed scene(s) for the Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf and Cate Blanchard starrer will take place June 28 though July 7.
Cynopsis says, “it will be a chase scene, set in 1957, in which black sedans will pursue Ford or his stunt double east on Chapel Street, through Branford and Saybrook college courtyards, the Old Campus and a practice field in West Haven.
Indiana also will roar through the Yale Commons dining hall. It will be set up to look like a study hall so it will be books and papers sent flying, not dishes and flatware.
The production also may use the West Haven Green in order to capture on film the historic First Congregational Church with its tall steeple.”
Casting call is being held by Billy Dowd Casting and everyone trying out is asked to bring a professional “head shot.”
Connecticut recently allowed a 30 percent business tax cut for film productions which has caused somewhat of a surge in big budget location shoots in the state.
Last week, a crew was scouting locations in West Haven and New Haven for ‘Righteous Kill,’ a crime drama starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino
