Spidey already breaking box-office records

Peter Parker has finally managed to piece together the once-broken parts of his life, maintaining a balance between his relationship with Mary-Jane and his responsibility as Spider-Man. The whole world loves Spidey!
Partial proof of that statement can be found in Asia where ‘Spider-Man-3’ opened May 1st in eight markets. An additional eight markets were opened as the movie crossed time zones into Egypt, Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and France.
Jeff Blake, Sony Pictures Entertainment vice chairman said "In every single market we beat 'Spider-Man' and 'Spider-Man 2.' - and we set records in almost all of them."
In Thailand, the Philippines,Taiwan and Singapore, the film’s daily gross was the biggest single day ever.
In Japan, Spidey 3 net $3.7 million beating take from opening of franchise editions 1 and 2. In Korea, it took in #3.46 million to set the country’s opening day record. Another record was set in Hong Kong where it net $960,000.
The movie opens May 4th wide across the US. Sony is working with American exhibitors to host midnight screenings on Thursday to meet the frenzied interest.
