Chow Yun-fat quits Red Cliff

The s*** hit the fan on the set of John Woo’s ‘The Battle of Red Cliff’ as star Chow Yun-fat walked off the set of the $80 million Chinese historical epic.

Chow Yun-fatThe Lion Rock Productions – China Film Group production, in pre-production in Beijing came to a halt after Chow announced he was withdrawing from the film because he received his script too late for him to prepare adequately for his role.The other side of the coin announced by Lion Rock topper and Woo partner Terrence Chang, is that Chow made excessive demands – requesting addition of 73 clauses exceeding “industry standards” according to Chang.Chow later told the Associated Press that the contractual provisions were based on a "Hollywood-style contract," and remarked, "Maybe everyone hasn't gotten used to Hollywood contracts."
