Mark Wahlberg in army green as GI Joe

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura spoke with IESB reporters and gave a nugget of insider goodness to chew on: Mark Wahlberg may well be cast as GI Joe in an upcoming film.  IESB later spoke with Mark Wahlberg who confirmed he was gunning for the part.

Producer di Bonaventura says "GI Joe" will beon the heels of the "Transformers."

Wahlberg told IESB: "You know what, I'll do whatever Lorenzo wants me to do; it really depends on the script, obviously, but it's a cool idea. He says it's going to be kick ass, so yeah. But he's already putting that out there, so who knows. He knows how to get me to say 'yes.'"

The script will detail the rise of the COBRA organization, the film will show how the  Cobra Commander created his terrorist organization and creates a worldwide threat.

GI Joe baddies Destro and Stormshadow are being planned to be included in the film. the Joe's will include main players, such as Duke, Hawk and Snake Eyes.

Duke, acccording to Wikipedia and other GI Joe official trivia sources, comes from St. Louia, Missouri and is fluent in English, French and German, as well as several Southeast Asian dialects.

A scholar at Fort Benning, has undergone Special Forces training and worked with South Vietnamese Tribesmen. He was also an instructor in four different Special Forces schools. Duke is hands on and prefers the company of his troops.
