Actors Jason Bateman and Allison Janney have signed on to co-star in Mandate Pictures' comedy "Juno" for Fox Searchlight Pictures, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Already cast are Jennifer Garner and Michael Cera in the coming-of-age story being directed by Jason Reitman, based on a script from scribe Diablo Cody,
Ellen Page stars as Juno, a high school girl confronted with a teenage pregnancy.
Production is underway in Vancouver.
THR reports that Bateman will play the "emotionally stunted husband" of Garner; the couple is interested in adopting Juno's unborn child.
Janney will play Juno's stepmother. Cera will play Juno's loyal best friend and the one responsible for her pregnancy.
"Juno" is produced by Mandate with John Malkovich's Mr. Mudd Prods. The film's producers are Mason Novick and Malkovich's producing partners at Mr. Mudd, Lianne Halfon and Russell Smith, reports THR.
Bateman will be seen in Universal Pictures' "The Kingdom" and another Mandate film, "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium," to be released in November by the Walden-Fox joint venture. Janney will be in New Line Cinema's "Hairspray," coming this summer.
