Director and producer James Cameron has confirmed to Harry Knowles at Aint it Cool News that actors Wes Studi, Sigourney Weaver, Peter Mensah, Joel David Moore, C.C.H. Pounder and Laz Alonso have joined the cast of his 3D CG feature "Avatar".

Cameron now begins a pre-visualization process called Pre-Capture with already announced stars Sam Worthington (Somersault) and Zoe Saldana at the WETA studios in New Zealand.
The film will be released Summer 2009.
"Avatar" follows a wounded ex-marine (Worthington) who is thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in resources. He eventually crosses over to lead the native race in a battle for survival.
