WB & DiCaprio team for Enron story

Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio are teaming to tell the story of the Houston energy company, Enron that collapsed into bankruptcy when its officers were found guilty of fraudulent accounting and corruption.
WB reportedly paid seven figures to option “Conspiracy of Fools” a book by New York Times reporter Kurt Eichenwald and for Sheldon Turner (‘The Longest Yard’) to pen script.
Deal cements DiCaprio’s relationship with WB who starred for Warner in the Oscar ® nominated best picture ‘The Departed’ and in ‘Blood Diamond,’ for which he received a best performance for an actor nod.
New take on the story follows the 2005 documentary ‘Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room,’ based on the book by Fortune reporters Bethany McLean and Peter Elkind and the made for 2003 TV movie ‘The Crooked E: The Unshredded Truth About Enron’ based on Brian Cruver’s book.
DiCaprio’s Appian Way shingle will produce along with WB.
