Columbia Pictures is finalizing the deal for producer/writer Judd Apatow, Robert Smigel and Adam Sandler's script "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," with Adam Sandler attached to star, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Revolution Studios has developed the comedy from an original screenplay by Apatow, Smigel and Sandler, and it is a bit of a comic twist on the drama "Munich" - except this Mossad agent, played by Sandler, who fakes his own death moves to New York secretly to become a hair stylist. Smigel is said to be rewriting the script according to THR.
Production commences in the summer in Los Angeles and New York for a summer 2008 release.
THR reports that Happy Madison, Adam Sandler's production company will produce "Zohan."
Sandler will next appears in the comedy "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" with sexy Jessica Biel, and the Sept. 11th drama "Reign Over Me," according to IMDB.
Apatow's long list of credits include "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Fun With Dick and Jane," he also wrote the Sandler film "The Wedding Singer."
Smigel is the creator of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, also writes the sketch "The Ambiguously Gay Duo," and others, for "Saturday Night Live's" "TV Funhouse." He also worked with Jon Stewart on the Autism fundraiser for Comedy Central's Night of Too Many Stars.
