Shawn Levy takes on 'The Flash'

David Goyer (‘Batman Begins’) has ankled the Warner Brothers big screen adaptation of DC Comics super hero ‘The Flash’. Shawn Levy (‘Night at the Museum’) has stepped in as director to replace him.
Goyer had been signed by the WB to write, direct and produce a feature starring the super hero who has the ability to run at super sonic speeds with superhuman reflexes and travel through time. But Goyer announced on his MySpace page last Friday, February 2 that he had actually left the project several months ago.
"I am sad to say that my version of 'The Flash' is dead at WB," Goyer wrote. "The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool Flash film. I'm quite proud of the screenplay I turned in. I threw my heart into it, and I genuinely think it would've been the basis of a groundbreaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading off in a completely different direction."
Levy plans to use elements of the script Goyer had developed but punsters fear he will revert back to his comedy roots instead of the darker side that had been penned by Goyer.
Besides directing the +$225 million blockbusters ‘Night at the Museum,’ Levy is known for such films as ‘The Pink Panther’ and ‘Cheaper by the Dozen.’
Levy is expected to take on a producing role along with Charles Roven and Alex Gartner.
