"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" has cast a critical role, the lead to be played by British actor Ben Barnes.
According to The Times Online, 26-year-old Ben Barnes will be playing the title role in Disney's upcoming Narnia sequel "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian".
Barnes joins returning actors Georgie Henley who plays Lucy, Skandar Keynes who plays Edmund, William Moseley who plays Peter, and Anna Popplewell who plays Susan. Liam Neeson will serve as the voice of Aslan again.
Filming is due to begin this month in New Zealand. Most of the key department heads from the first movie will work with Andrew Adamson on this film.
There is a catch. Allegedly London's National Theatre is threatening to sue Ben Barnes after he left the West End production of the Tony award-winning play "The History Boys" to join Narnia.
Barnes abandoned his role as sexually manipulative schoolboy Dakin this week after being offered the title role in Prince Caspian.
The National Theatre has been forced to fly in Jamie King, who has previously played the role of Dakin, from Los Angeles as there was no time to rehearse a new actor for the part.
A spokesman for the National Theatre said yesterday, "Ben Barnes has decided to leave The History Boys early, before his contract is finished. It is something we are taking very seriously. He has accepted an offer to be in a children's Disney film."
