Dominic Sena directs Beckinsale in 'Whiteout'

Action director Dominic Sena is inked to direct “Whiteout,” an Antarctic action thriller adapted from a series of graphic novels by Greg Rucka. Sena is a Propaganda films alumnus and helmed films "Gone In Sixty Seconds" and "Swordfish."
Actress Kate Beckinsale is attached as the lead actress and the film will commence shooting mid-March in Montréal and Manitoba, Canada.
The screenplay was written by Erich & Jon Hoeber, the art department is headed up by Production Designer Graham 'Grace' Walker, who did amazing work on "Gothika", "The Reaping," "Pitch Black" and "Ghost Ship" and Art Director Martin Gendron who worked as the Canadian art director for "The Aviator." Joel Silver is producing and Warner Bros. will distribute the film for a 2008 release.
The story follows U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko as she uncovers the first murder ever in the Antarctic, just as the sun is about to disappear for six months, reports Production Weekly.
