Harrison Ford has threatened to quit the new Indiana Jones movie, unless he gets to use a real whip.

The 64-year-old actor, who plays the daredevil archaeologist, was told the weapon would have to be computer generated because of new film safety rules.

Harrison branded the rule "ridiculous" and said he would pull out of the film if he couldn't wield his whip.

A source said: "The idea was to take away the risk element the whip carries.

"Safety laws have changed since the last film and movie makers have to be much more careful. Now they use computer graphics for any dangerous stuff."

Harrison was 39-years-old when the first Indiana Jones movie, 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark' was released in 1981.

'The Temple Of Doom' followed in 1983 and 'The Last Crusade' five years later. The trilogy made more than £600 million at the box office.

The fourth movie is due for release next year.

That's right....he better use a real whip. If he fakes that, than the whole indiana jones movie will be fake. I mean of course its fake, but it wont have the same charisma as the previous films. Only thing tho, Harrison Ford better not quit. you cant come this far and then throw it all away over a simple whip.. either way this movie better be made..ive waited to long not to watch it now...i just prefer he use a real whip to

no... he can't let his fans down on a thing like that although i agree with him... the old fashioned way does have its flair. Safety first, of course, but there must be another solution.... or isn't there?
we're all waiting anxiously...

If this is a real rumor and god I hope it is. Harrison Ford should walk off if they try to pull that nonsense. Indiana Jones is nothing without his whip...can you imagine a fake-@$$ CG whip flailing around, no wonder he's pissed.

word... a CG whip would be the lamest of lame... that stuff kinda works for Marvel Super Heroes... but not dr. jones! I would be disappointed to say the least. Is nothing sacred anymore? And a whip dangerous? Meanwhile you can still apparantly drive cars into street poles with extras hanging all over the outside without raising too many concerns...

Fortune and Glory!

No Time for Love Dr Jones!

if this rumour is indeed true then it is no doubt due to george lucas once again banging the cg gong. the same situation occured when speilberg told him 'NO' to ditigal filming. hey george, you had your go with episodes 1-3. they all sucked. dont jar-jar indiana for us.

This is obviously false, and shame on you for posting it as if it's news without siting your source. The following sentance: 'Now they use computer graphics for any dangerous stuff.' is completely innacurate.

This is irresponsible journalism at its best. You are now the laughing stock of the internet, and I gauruntee that you won't respond to this comment, as you know I am 100% correct. How do you know that? BECAUSE YOU MADE THIS UP in an attempt to get linked by AICN and all the REAL movie news sites.

Shame on you. You're pathetic.

Hey, 'fuzzzz', get it together...'gauruntee', 'innacurate', 'siting your source'...maybe you should 'sight' a f'n spelling book before you splash your mindless word drool all over the place? As far as this rumor, nothing would surprise me, as pussified as we've become these days. Go on with your bad self, Mr. Ford...'Whip it...into shape...shape it up...get straight' etc, etc...

no CGI whips... it'll make IJ 4 suck, and not realistic.

The answer is simple,

Throw them the idol, they'll throw you the whip.

Case closed.

So what, they shouldn't even be making the film. 1) It's just going to cheapen the first three and ruin the Indiana Jones series. 2) Ford has turned into a real prick over the years. He's too old to play this kind of role. Look at the disaster that 'Firewall' was. He's more suited to be playing someone's grandpa or do movies like 'Something's Got to Give' - the old jackass trying to act like he's still young and has it. His hayday is gone, over, finished - and he should just lose the earing and retire.

It's not real - do they use CGI fire for all explosions? Do you CGI stunt people? And for the most important reason, look at my name and that will give you a hint as to why I know this story is a flaming pile of excrement.

Other ways you can tell this article is useless: It says ford was 39 at the release of the first film. That would make him

Sick of Ford whinning, let him quit. Lets see him make a sequal to Hollywood Dics, just retire would ya. Sorry but, he pissed me off when I read he doesn't want anything ever to do with SW, like in the spin off TV series in a couple of years. Guess what SW started it all you ass.

I'm surprised they haven't replace the whip and gun in the Indian Jones movies with a walkie talkie like they did in ET

I don't know whether or not this is true, but people complaining about the movie loosing its authenticity should concider the authenticity of a firebrand 65 year old archeaologist. Shouldn't he have a chair at some university alread and be sitting back delagated work and researching the evidence someone else found like the real PhD's who are too old to get out into the field?

Sigh. Stop flaming Harrison Ford, people. Have you nothing better to do? Just because he didn't want anything to do with star wars series...give me a break. Bitter Star Wars fans I bet...Hate to tell you but he was in 2 movies before star wars. The man IS Indiana Jones and no younger actor could ever replace him.NEVER. It would be stupid to have a CG whip, and indeed ridiculous. If this is not a rumour, good on ya Harrison to speak out on the matter... hopefully, though, this is just a rumour.
