Nice to see that the child rape film bite the dust.Hopefully the people involved excluding the child actress be brought up on charges for courupting a child including the parent or parents.Always hoping controversy brings wealth and fame( Infamy}.My guess is these people also got there jollys off this sad thing. Not so jolly now.One thing I,d like to know is will they stand up and be counted when investigators start finding this thing in the possesion of sex offenders what silly way they will try to defend themselves. When one child gets hurt by this thing lawsuits should fly and I would argue that one child actress will be harmed latter in life. This is where we are now? Where do we go frm here?

I am just wondering why people are so upset about the movie hound dog. I think that rape is a horrible thing but this film is not mocking it or making it glamorous. This movie is telling a story. Have people ever watched life time? They show that sort of thing all the time. I want to say that there are much worse movies out there. Have any of you seen havoc or such films??? I think that this film is being given too much attention over a little girl in a body suit! Lets go after the actual child molesters that are getting away as we speak!

Trying to stop the wave of violence toward women and children has to start somewhere - why not with zeroing in on these types of movies????? Granted there are a lot of sex and violence in video games and other movies, but we can't ignore this and just put our heads in the sand.....someone has to speak up!!!

Leon,
From your comments, I'm guessing you haven't seen the film and just bought into the hype surrounding, one very brief and conservatively shot, 'rape' scene. Any lawsuit stemming from this film is of the worthless/frivolous variety, that's destroying our court system. If you're going to have an opinion, at least watch the material in question.

This movie doesn't glamorize rape. If this is an issue in our society, then why ignore it?

This movie is based upon someone's LIFE. You can't tell someone's story and just leave out the bad parts because it could offend someone. If you DON'T like it DON'T watch the movie. PERIOD. Grow up.

The worst Sundance ever. I will never spend the dough ($3k) to watch such horse shit ever again.
'Send a Bullet' was a convoluted POS. I was really psyched for the midnight movies. Stupid me. I'm not kidding- they were unwatchable. No shit. I saw 'We are the strange.' (I think that was the title) Awful. The threater was half empty 30 minutes into it.
Maybe I'm wrong about this but it felt like the films were not selected on merit. There's just no way that these were the best films around. As a whole, they sucked. I did see Tara Reid. She looked sober : )
The other thing that was really noticable this year was the asshole factor. There were more rude wanna-bee jack-offs than ever before, and that's saying something.

Sorry for all the awful bellyache'n, but I've always had such a good time before that it was a real let down.

I am having a rough time agreeing with the winners of this year’s top festival awards. Did anyone else out there see “Reprise” (directed by Joachim Trier) or “Offscreen” (directed by Christopher Boe)?

Leon you have got to be kidding if you think that Dakota (or her people) choose this movie for fortune and/or fame. I have read what it cost to do this movie and normally Dakota's paydays are higher than that for doing movies. I and sure from what I have read that she did it specifically for the subject matter. A subject that should not be brushed under the table. I can not even believe that you are saying that there should be charges brought up on these people. If it helps one child from escaping this, then the controversy was worth it. Truely Dakota Fanning will continue for a long time to do 100M dollar movies, work with the top directors in the business, and co-star with A listers. This is what will bring her fortune and fame. Re think what you are saying....

I live in Park City and I have to agree with Unhappy Fred. There were more jerks and wanna-be's than ever before, probably because it was the most crowded it has ever been. So do us a favor and don't come back!

Everyone is out for the easy buck thesedays, without doing the work.
Making a film showing a child being raped is simply obscene exploitation to create controversy over an otherwise worthless product.
Face it, we are living in an era of mediocrity. Creativity has been replaced by, 'Who can I exploit for a fast buck?'

Are we a society of idiots and suckers?
I for one have not seen Hound Dog, nor will I. The rape of a child is obscene and I will not view anything pertaining to it. Kudos to those who think similarly. If we were to watch such a film we would be labeled as h

I completely agree with all of the comments listed against Dakota's movie.
Why would anyone want to be entertained watching a child being raped or even the illusion of it!!!! Maybe it is someone's life, but why do people think they have to write and make movies about every little sordid detail of their lives for entertainment???? I think there are certainly better ways to inform the public about the so-called evils of the world than by plastering it on the screen for 'entertainment'. Shame on Dakota's parents for letting her make the decision to be in the film. She is just a child, after all, regardless of her 'Maturity'!!!! Maybe she isn't in it for the money ????, but it just seems like a very poor choice. Only time will tell where her future will go - we don't own that crystal ball!!!!
