The news on The Dark Knight is more who won't be seen than who is confirmed. The Latino Review got a scoop that a couple of rumored cast additions will be nixed.

The big tuna role of villain Harvey Dent is still being mulled, and Latino Review has revealed very important pieces of casting news related to the film today.
Number one, Penguin is out. The Review reports the final draft of the script will not involve either The Penguin or his other identity Oswald Cobblepot. For months the Penguin has been rumored at having a small role.
Number two, Mrs. Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes will be replaced. Her character of Rachel Dawes is scripted in the film, but the filmmakers are in a casting hunt for her replacement.
Holmes' representative tells The Wall Street Journal that "Katie was offered ["Dark Knight"] but was unable to accept the role because of scheduling conflicts. She was in the process of negotiating for another project".
Other roles in the film are an East European mobster, a Latina cop, and an Asian male accountant.
The Christopher Nolan directed film, with Wally Pfister returning as his DP, began pre-production two weeks ago and will begin shooting in March.
Christian Bale will play Bruce Wayne/Batman, Heath Ledger as The Joker. Sir Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth and an actor we see too little of, Gary Oldman returns as Lt. James Gordon. Dent rumors are said to be possibly Ed Norton or Jamie Foxx.
