Meryl Streep SAG snub for Prince Charles date

Streep was nominated Tuesday 23 January 2007 for an Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for the 79th Annual Academy Awards ceremony. EPA/Barry Wetcher The actress is nominated for a SAG Award for portraying icy cool Miranda Priestly in "The Devil Wears Prada," but she won't be attending the SAG awards.In a statement, Streep's publicist explains, "Meryl Streep will not be able to attend the Screen Actors Guild Award ceremonies... She will be co-hosting the 10th annual benefit for Harvard Medical School's Center for Health and the Global Environment. Vice President Al Gore and Streep will present the Center's Global Citizen award to HRH The Prince Of Wales - Prince Charles- for his outstanding commitment to sound environmental stewardship.
