Aussie native David Wenham is fresh off Frank Miller's anticipated graphic novel, "300" directed by Zack Snyder, as the character Dilios. The tale is of the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army against the advancing Persians; the battle said to have inspired Greece to unite, ushering in the world's first democracy, and will be hitting theaters in March 2007.
Now Wenham, the hunky Faramir of "Lord of the Rings" fame, will grace Baz Luhrmann's "Australia" stellar cast of Kidman and Jackman for 20th Century Fox.
"Australia" is written by Luhrmann, and is an epic tale of pre-World War II northern Australia and the story of an English aristocrat played by Kidman who inherits a huge ranch and reluctantly deals with a cattle driver played by Jackman to protect her new spread.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Wenham is playing a station manager who is plotting to possess the ranch, called Faraway Downs.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in April in northern Australia, after Kidman finishes "The Invasion."
Sydney born actor Wenham has worked with Luhrmann and Kidman in "Moulin Rouge."
