UCLA film school grad Koepp is a born natural for the action and adventure genre, having penned "Mission: Impossible" film, "War of the Worlds," "Panic Room," and two of the "Jurassic Park" films.
Koepp, a native of Wisconsin, was also able to write a script that was the glue uniting the three key players in the Indiana Jones 4 endless script "back and forth" between titans Lucas, Spielberg and Ford. Multiple Oscar nominee Frank Darabont was unable to provide a script prior to Koepp's that made the three happy.
"Spider-Man 3" opens on May 4th, and is the end of contractual involvement for director Sam Raimi and stars Tobey Maguire and Kirstin Dunst.
Columbia/Sony has not released any further information regarding their continuing involvement, according to Variety.
