I dont understand why they are making a movie about Kurt Cobain when the whole 'suicide' scene is going to be a lie. Kurt didnt committ suicide. Why would they want to do that. This whole movie is going to be a lie.

Courtney telling the truth?? Never going to happen. I think the only reason why she's giving rights to this movie is because it will take all the attention off of her. Alot of Kurts fans think that he was murdered. I bet she's thinking that if this movie comes out everyone will think it was a suicide. And then no one will be saying that she had anything to do with his death. Then no one will be able to reopen Kurts case. But she cant fool me. I know Kurt was murdered and I know Courtney had something to do with it. And one day his case will be opened again. The truth will come out eventually. Whether or not Courtney tells it.

Kurt would never want a huge 'A' list movie made about him. I think Last Days is exactly the way he would have wanted to be remembered, if at all, in the form of film. Gus VanSaant is the only director in the worldd who could do such a good job of capturing the life of kurt cobain. Let's see Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig ,Ashton Kutchner or any of those 'A' list idiots out-Kurt Michael Pitt. It's not gonna happen.
guys listen, this is a great opportunity to show the people interested how interesting kurts life really was. the book was amazing. and everyone loves to see a book made into a movie. especially if its about kurt. now in my opinion, kurt didnt kill himself, but to remove all doubt would be ignorant considering the facts brought about in the book. kurt himself mentions several times that he thinks about suicide. so i wouldnt be surprised if he did. even thought courtney love is a horrible person, i think this would be a great idea.
i think this movie isnt going to be about the suicicde thing. she doesnt care what people think anymore. but she is going to make alot of money with this because his fans are thousands. they will want to see the movie. hear the music. replay the well known story to themsleves. Last days was really much more kurts style. indie film. no huge success . incredibly well acted. i dont want to go see this movie bc kurt wouldnt have wanted me too. but i know i wont be able to stop myself because even though i never knew him. i miss him and this is a chance to be near him.

I may be some little kid who only saw 1 concert when i was 3 and i do think the whole sucide thing was a lie but the rest of it is pretty true some of it maybe a little strecth out but it will be pretty cool to see the movie to bad only a few young people my age know who he is.And courtney saided it would be made in 2001 what the heck is taking so long i have all the albums and the book so the movie should be really awesome and i can't wait to see it and buy it hurry up already how come no one is wanting to produce it yet. it would be better then any movie yet!

In my opinion, they shouldn't make a movie about Kurt. There might be a movie about him sooner or later anyway but I know if they make it, Nirvana fans might be disapointed. Nobody knows hoe exactly Kurt died? some say suicide, some say he got murderded and some say it was drugs. Doesn't it insult Kurt Cobain's memory to make a movie about him? The movie is going to be one big lie, nobody in the future will appreciate the reality and real life of Kurt, just some movie, I think we should just keep the memory of Kurt's real life and forget the movie, its gonna be false anyway

And maybe 15 years later someone will think once again 'what if Kurt didnt commit suicide, what if courtney knew?' then it's too late. nobody should do a movie about kurt and his death cause the filmmakers don't even have a clue about what really happended to kurt, they're just doing it for big bucks. I think that the book was wonderful and showed the dark and light side of Kurt Cobain. He was a complex person and went through as much as any person could handle without doing what he finally did...and I(even as a fan of Kurt) believe that he did commit suicide. His family history had suicide in it as well as a history of depression both in him and his family. He wanted nothing more than fame and when he finally had it, he wanted nothing more than to disappear. I hope that it is well made and portrays his life accurately...I don't want it to seem like he was nothing but an annoyed heroin addicted rock star, but i also don't want to see him portrayed as an angel that had a perfect life that was tragically ended.
if you ask me...the truth is never going to come out. Its obvious that they are going to make the movie like this: Kurt will be happy, singing with Nirvana, touring the world, getting into crap with Courtney Love...and then he'll get depressed, and he'll commit suicide. If you think they are going to show Kurt get murdered, haha. They might even just show his body, and nobody will know if he commited suicide...but if anything, be assured they will not show him get murdered. Every media outlet in the world that said anything about Cobain clearly stated that he commited suicide. A movie won't change that, and they won't make a movie that disagrees with the supposed 'facts'.
It will be exciting to see how the film unfolds. I love Kurt. I love Nirvana and I absolutely loved Charles Cross' book 'Heavier than Heaven.' It was definitely the most detailed and accurate book written thus far about Kurt's life. I'm hoping that if they do produce a movie, it will be based on and laid out just as Cross' book was. I mean, the book was created based on interviews with Kurt's friends and family and band memebers. I really don't think the movie would be all lies mainly because they already have hard evidence from all the interviews conducted. I'm really excited. I hope this 'embryonic' idea of a movie about Kurt Cobain finds its way to the big screen.

I think this is a chance for cobain's life to be exhumed from the depths of our (the fans) memories and give the public a look at how amazing this man was from his life to his lyrics. We all know that he didn't commit suicide and that's fine but let this film happen and let everyone know the legend of Kurt Cobain.

I buy and seek out everything I can find about Kurt and Nirvana. I have wished for many years to see a movie like this created. But, I never dreamt that Courtney would have complete control over it's script. His life will now be portrayed the way she wants it to be. Its all about her folks and that sucks if you ask me. I'm sure only a handful of people know what really happened when it comes to his death, and unfortunatly she is the spokesperson for this group. I have recently acquired the movie, 'About a son' and really enjoyed it. It's real and in fact is him telling his own story. I'm afraid that this movie (Heavier Than Heaven) will be what Courtney wants the world to see! Her own little fantasy about Sid and Nancy's movie. With so many people interested in the murder theory, I wish that someone could prove it or not before this movie is made.

bcobain had enough crack in his system to more than temporarily paralize him when he was killed. the only way that the trigger was pulled was if someone else did it. and it has been proven that love did infact offer a hitman US$50,000 to kill cobain and make it look like suicide but the hitman wouldnt take the job so who noes if she found another hitman that took it. also because of his suicidal thoughts and the suicidle things he said it led the case to be overthrown and closed quickly without proper investigation. now all of his property had been turned over to love so the police have no legal access to them so the case will remain shut until she dies. she also had motive to kill him as he was considering divorce and that would mean she would have no access to his belongings and his fortune so she had reason to kill him before he divorced her.

A movie potraying Kurts life would be fucking awesome! Even though they would have to make him commit suicide, it would still be great to watch his entire life unfold. An alternative ending could be us seeing a dark figure entering the house and then hearing a gun-shot, since I think everyone has esablished that there is no way he comitted suicide.

As much as I would love to see this film (being a Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love fan), I do think that it is unfair to Cobain. He hated the media and he hated the attention that came with it. I think it will be everything that he was against because it is an insight into his private life as well as his music. Cobain never asked for the Journals to be released- they were his private writings, so why would he want a film released about him? He hated the mainstream scene, that is why he never played Teen spirit when it got over played...I think it will be an interesting film and i will definately go and see it, but i'm not so sure the remaining members of Nirvana will approve

I'm also excited to see some news over the development over this movie. And as for the ending: they might just pull one of those 'open ended' movie endings, where they show him escaping from his rehab clinic and then they show the meat wagon hauling his body away and a message saying that his body was found on april 8th and that a note was found by his body suggesting that he was leaving courtney (by the way, only the last line of the note suggests suicide, and that part wasn't written in his hand writing) and you can look it up if you want because his 'suicide note' was released under the freedom of information act in 1996. I am a strong believer that Kurt was murdered but its a well known fact that he was suffering from depression (and the fact that he had no more song ideas didn't help) and who are the producers to decide how he died. So I think that somebody in the producing unit might pull a smart one on the viewers and make them to choose what they'd like to believe.

I read Charles Cross' book 'Heavier Than Heaven' and the book did portray Kurt as suicidal, however he really was. He was definately suicidal. He had all the symptoms of one who would commit suicide including previous attempts.
The book inclues many examples of Kurt's fascination with suicide throughout his entire life.
Now, I'm not saying Kurt did kill himself but I am saying that if he didn't than the end of the movie (When Kurt dies) would be the only part that would be a real lie. However because the author of the book is not making the film, much of the movie could be different from the book.
I strongly recommend everyone reads the book before watching the movie and then think about why they think Kurt was murdured and think about his alleged suicide and all the evidence behind both.
I agree Kurt may very well have been murdered. I believe if he did not kill himself than he would eventually. There was a lot on his agenda and a lot on his mind at the time. It seems untimely.. He likely was planning on doing it shortly after if he didn't. He had a lot of unfinished tasks.

Wow! Reading a couple of these comments has really angered me. I have kept my opinions to myself for the longest time, but now i feel it is best to share them with other people. Many so-called 'nirvana fans' are under the impression that Kurt's death was not suicide. First of all, this 'consipracy' has been present for over 10 years now. In my opinion, it is not worth all the trouble to argue over Kurt's death. True nirvana fans would focous more on what he accomplished while he was still alive. The truth is, that Kurt was an amazing talent. He expressed his genuine feelings in both songs and poetry. Another truth that people seem to forget is that Kurt had suffered from depression even in his childhood. He openly spoke out about suicide, something that was all too familair to him. He told friends he would become famous, and then kill himself because he had 'suicide genes' that ran in the family. (A couple of Kurt's family members had killed themselves when he was a kid). Not to mention, a couple of months before he died, Kurt had attempted suicide while touring in Rome, Italy. I don;t care if people have 'proof' that Kurt was murdered. People say Kurt would never leave behind his child, Francis. It doesn't matter. Depression is a mental illness. It is a selfish disease. You really don't think of anyone or anything but yourself at that point. Of course, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, however what angers me is the assumptions made. People should research the issue. Read a biography, listen to his music, and watch him in interviews. Only then can should people form an opinion. But please, formulate your OWN opinion, then move on! Concentrate on his music and his genius. There is enough negativity in the world, why would you want to contribute to it? There is no doubt in my mind that Kurt and Nirvana changed music forever. He has inspiried me to be myself and to chase my dreams. so in honor of Kurt, let's give authority the finger, crank up the radio, and be happy in our own skin.

We won't ever know if it was a suicid or not. With all I read and saw about him, it's totally possible that he killed his-self. Murder is also possible it's sure but everyone should stop hate Courtney Love just because they think she killed her. We don't know so hate her because she uses Kurt to make money now with things like Converse and this fucking movie. I hope they would not choose some guy like Zac Effron, he would totally not represent Kurt Cobain the way he was.
Finally, I have a question after all my blah blah thing, would they do this movie or not (or do they did it already) ? They talk about it since a cuple of years so I wonder they may changed of mind...

I Am really looking forward and hoping they will make the movie. The whole movie wont be a lie. because the importent part is not his death but everything before his death. Thats what i am looking forward to. I really enjoyed this book. The childhood and his youth parts are extremley good. just hope they will be as good in a movie.
im very interested in seeing this movie(if it ever gets made).i love kurt and his music. i dont think kurt would be happy that a movie is being made about him and is not telling the truth about certain parts of his life(like the tabloids did). on the otherhand i think he would be happy if people see the movie if thats the choice they wnat to make and make up their on minds on what was an accurate portrayal of his life. kurt was true to himself and i think he would want you to be that way.
This movie wont be worth seeing, it will be basically written, produced and directed by Courtney Love. She will make sure fans will only see and hear what SHE wants people to. They should get Krist and Dave involved with it.
