HOLLYWOOD, Ca. (M&C) - Big Screen Entertainment Group is pleased to announce it has become a co-producer, along with Italian producers Altre Produzioni and Chareann, of the comedy-documentary, “Frankie Facciatosta and the Search for Success,” written and directed by Gianni Torres.
The film stars Frank Gigante, and follows him on a journey from New Jersey to Italy in search of the secret of success. The film also stars Joe Mantegna, John Turturro, Aida Turturro, Franco Nero, Vincent Guastaferro, Anna Maria Barbera and Frank Stallone.
“When I realized that the familial ancestry of Rudolph Valentino, Sylvester and Frank Stallone, John and Aida Turturro, Joe Mantegna, Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia Coppola and Nicolas Cage was all concentrated in a few square miles, I jumped to my feet and decided to produce a documentary movie on that land, called Apulia, situated in southern Italy,” explains Gianni Torres. “There was only one question: what is the secret of Apulia? So, I produced a movie with the purpose creating a route which could highlight a kind of “emigration in reverse,” carried out by the protagonist Facciatosta. I believe everybody’s real power is in their roots, which, unfortunately, are often prone to dissolve over the course of generations. This film seeks to preserve the connection to one’s past.”
Torres continues: “I came back to America, and was fortunate enough to meet with Big Screen Entertainment Group. Their dynamism and enthusiasm reflected my own, and I shared with them the evolution of this new and original project.”
Big Screen will be involved in securing distribution, as well as screenings and festival submissions, over the next six months.
