China's Southeast Express has reported that Hayao Miyazaki, the gifted Japanese filmmaker, will base his next anime picture on a Chinese novella called "I Lost My Little Boy."
In October, 2006, Miyazaki's production company, Studio Ghibli, revealed that work on the master's next feature was already underway.
The Chinese paper revealed that location scouts had been sent to the old Japanese port city of Kobe, and that illustrators were producing their storyboards in vivid watercolor, "a first for Miyazaki," reports IGN.com.
FilmIck also confirms that Miyazaki - who created "Spirited Away", and "Howl's Moving Castle" - will next be bringing an adaption of the Chinese children's novella "I Lost my Little Boy".
The story revolves around a young boy dying from heart disease who still manages to go on, and have great adventures. IGN.com reports that Miyazaki is using watercolor for his storyboards "because of the movie's unusual visual style."
