Harold and Kumar 2 production underway in Shreveport, LA

Happy news for the bong loving crowd that flocked to see the exploits of overworked Harold and underachieving Kumar as they futilely tried to get their burger on in the original "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle."

Film junkies take heart, the vibrant production scene that was in Louisiana pre Hurricane Katrina is back up an running with a myriad of films shooting in Shreveport and New Orleans. Beignets all around!

Harold and Kumar 2 production offices are up and open in Shreveport, (official start date is January 22nd) and the stars that we loved so dearly reprise their roles. John Cho as Harold, Kal Penn as Kumar, and pretty Paula Garcés as the neighborly object of Harold's lust, Maria. The cast will also include the deliciously zany out and proud Neil Patrick Harris and "Superman" Brandon Routh too.

The plot for the sequel involves a badly timed bong smuggling sequence that nets the doping duo the yoke of "terrorists" as they try to make it to Amsterdam. Good times, can't wait for this.

The project has had several working titles, recently listed as the Untitled Harold and Kumar sequel. Avery Pix is producing for New Line, which plans a 2008 release. More to come.
