Michael Caine and Jude Law to team for Sleuth
By Stone Martindale Jan 6, 2007, 4:29 GMT
This is one to watch for.
It seems Michael Caine is always working.
Now it is being reported he will remake a classic film from his past. His numerous roles over the years have included the original 'Sleuth' made in 1972 directed by Joseph Mankiewicz.
Caine originally played the role of Milo, the nemesis of Laurence Olivier's Andrew Wyke, the rich man whose wife is the object of Caine's lust.
Caine was nominated for Best Actor for 1972's 'Sleuth' and he's taking a another run at the thriller about an older writer who takes revenge when he finds out his wife is having an affair with a younger man.
This time around, Jude Law fills Caine's shoes, and Caine fills the late Olivier's.
Kenneth Branagh will direct, Law will co-produce and playwright Harold Pinter will pen the script, reports Variety.
