'The Tingler' gets finessed by 'Feast' scribes

Up and comer scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who worked magic on a satirical horror hit, 'Feast' have been selected to rewrite 'The Tingler,' reports the Hollywood Reporter.
Columbia Pictures tapped the two for the rewrite of a currently languishing script for the classic horror film remake, 'The Tingler.'
'The Tingler' originally was a 1959 film starring Vincent Price and is a story about a scientist, who search for a medical cure for fear, and discovers and unleashes the Tingler, an entity that kills its victims with fear.
Melton and Dunstan won the 2004-05 season of Project Greenlight, and wrote a "gutsy, grind-house styled script," for 'Feast,' which featured a great cast including blue-chip Hollywood veterans Clu Gulager, and Sean Penn's mother, Eileen Ryan, who stole the movie with very little dialogue.
"The tight script is full of campy dialogue, and features the monster talent of punk icon and writer Henry Rollins as a low end Tony Robbins, a loser life coach that lamely dispenses motivational bon mots every time something happens," reported April MacIntyre in Monsters and Critics, Feast DVD review. http://dvd.monstersandcritics.com/reviews/article_1211359.php
