Dolly Parton (L) and George Lucas share some thoughts following the State Department Dinner for the 29th Kennedy Center Honors dinner at the Department of State in Washington, D.C. late Saturday, 02 December 2006.EPA/RON SACHS / POOL
I feel like I’ve just opened one of my best presents Christmas morning (of course it is a week late).
Even though director George Lucas announced at the Rome International Film Festival last October that he had teamed up with Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford for the fourth Indiana Jones movie, he confirmed in an interview on December 30th that script had been finalized for the action adventure movie and it would begin filming next year.
While not giving up plot, Lucas said, “It’s going to be a character piece that will include very interesting mysteries. I think it's going to be really cool – the best one yet."
Ford will reprise his role and Spielberg will direct.
Ford played Indiana Jones in 1981's "Raiders of the Lost Ark," 1984's "Temple of Doom" and 1989's "The Last Crusade."
Shoot locations were not confirmed however Lucas said that a portion of the movie would be filmed in Los Angeles.
Next chapter of the movie franchise is expected to hit the big screen in May 2008

Let's hope it's worth waiting for. Of the three, the first is obviously the best; the second is just bad all the way through with the bug-eating scene, the child-abuse-as-entertainment scenes, etc.; and the third was a retread of many of the scenes from the first, so it was pretty good.
Hope they come up with something original.
Well.. we had
Indiana Jones and the lost ark (Jewish)
Indiana Jones and the stolen Idol (Hindu)
Indiana Jones and the holy Grail (Christian)
How about Indiana Jones and the foreskin of Mohammad, to complete the Abrahamic set? or Indiana Jones and the willie of Osirius? for a classic archeology item.
Just trying to be helpful here.
Honestly, Harrison Ford is getting to be a bit old for Indiana Jones, James Bond has always been that mid thirties to forty something age that Batman and Superman have been for over 50 years.
The problem is that, as an action hero, as he begins to age the story changes; Why would a sixty year old be running around the world with a girl young enough to be his granddaughter? I'm pretty sure they won't pair him with an age appropriate woman.
anyhow, I'll be in line to buy popcorn...
I don't care, I remember having temple of doom folders in grade school. I can't wait. All though I did think the whole theolgy completion bit was funny
wonder what happened to G. Lucas' promise that he was going to do the small movies and projects that were close to his heart?
whatevs.
'Indiana Jones and the Search for WMD'
Yeah, I've got to agree. The religion twist is a pretty good idea !
Two thumbs up for the guy with the idea !
I swear Lucas says the same thing every year about Indy 4 :).

I agree. Saw Raiders 6 times, taking all of my adult friends, then my kids a little later. Can't wait for this reprise. Too cool. Indy's 'demographic' brackets us all. Any way to merge this with the '08 prez run? Nah. Indy's better than all that jazz.
Indiana Jones and the Quest for Truth in Politics??????
Maybe Indy will sign on to be Edwards' running mate? I still wouldn't vote for him.
I was born in 78, so was relatively young when I saw all 3 of the Indiana Jones movies. They rock, and a fourth is definitely welcomed by me. As for comments like, 'he's old now -- what are we gonna do???' I would reply, well dont you think they know that? I'm sure that they are going to take Ford's age into account. About the age of his mistress, uh, I dont know. All of the older world travellers I see in san francisco usually have hot young chicks with them. It wouldnt be unrealizstic to think that indiana jones could score a lusty debutant for his adventures. anyway, it should be good!
very excited!!! but the script better be really good as too not ruin the history of the franchise
LAMONT CRANSTON, you are a very funny man! Thanks for the best laugh of the day!
Well.. we had
Indiana Jones and the lost ark (Jewish)
Indiana Jones and the stolen Idol (Hindu)
Indiana Jones and the holy Grail (Christian)
Sorry to bust yer bubble Lamont (HA, what a name), but it was:
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark, and thats Christian...Jews and Christians both have theology on that. Its more him fighting Germans
2. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Again, the Germans are behind the story. Hindus dont have Idols, its like caling the Cross an Idol or Moses and the Saints false prophets.
3. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade...Christian and alluding to the Crusades that were supposedly for the search of the holy grail, which many have realized is false. Again Germans in the mix.
Your comments on the muslims stink just as badly. Stop day dreaming about mens privates and focus more.
