New adoptive mother, touring machine and ex-actress Madonna has tipped the press she will make her cinematic directorial debut.

Madge is listed as the director of upcoming film "Blade To The Heat " a story based on the boxing match and is said to be loosely based on the fated bout between Emile Griffith and Benny 'Kid' Paret.

Paret was born in Santa Clara, Cuba. He died aged 25 in New York City of the injuries sustained 10 days earlier on March 24, 1962 in his last boxing fight with Emile Griffith for the welterweight championship in Madison Square Garden.  This fight was nationally televised in the United States and is widely thought to be the first live airing of injuries that resulted in death on television.

The industry website Hollywood.com broke the details, and list Madonna's company Maverick Entertainment as well as Persistent Entertainment as the movie's production companies. Julio Caro is listed as one of the producers, and Oliver Mayer wrote the screenplay.

Madonna initially launched her acting career in the film "Desperately Seeking Susan," co-starred and had a short lived affair with Warren Beatty in  "Dick Tracy," suffered criticism for her attempts at portraying the late Eva Peron in"Evita" and also starred in "Swept Away" which was helmed by her husband, Guy Ritchie.
