Is Sly Stallone considering a remake of the Bronson classic "Death Wish"?
Maybe...
"Death Wish" is a 1974 film starring Charles Bronson, his character Paul Kersey is an architect and seemingly peaceful man who reacts when his when wife and daughter are attacked in their apartment. His wife is killed and his daughter is in catatonic state.
Seething Paul gets an interest in guns and begins a vigilante clean-up effort of his own when a mugger tries to hit him.
It is a classic tale of whether the actions and net result of the armed vigilante fighting against crime are to be vilified or made a hero by the public.
Recently Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News interviewed Sly and the Rocky Balboa star hinted that he might be considering a Death Wish remake.
"I'd like to get your feedback on the idea of remaking "Death Wish" with a slightly different slant", Sly begins.
"Instead of the Charles Bronson character being an architect; my version would have him as a very good cop who had incredible success without ever using his gun. So when the attack on his family happens, he's really thrown into a moral dilemma in proceeding to carry out his revenge."
