HBO's wildly popular series, Sex and the City, has been the subject of much speculation regarding the feature film follow up. Since the show ended in 2004, the original cast have gone their separate ways. Samantha sexpot Kim Cattrall has gone on record with Star magazine that the movie is officially back on.
It had been thought that the much talked about project would never get off the ground as talk of behind-the-scenes drama between the stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon kept appearing in the press. While the actresses have steadfastly denied the rumors, individual projects, including Kristin's role in the film Deck the Halls have also been cited as a deal breaker to a possible reunion.
"I've just come home and there was just this flood of excitement," Cattrall told Star. Though there have been reports that the Sex and the City film was unable to pick up speed because of friction between the actresses - as Cattrall had reportedly refused to appear in the film, because of potentially poor script quality and co star friction, her snarkish past remarks published in the UK Globe in years past.
But now, an unnamed studio insider reveals to OK! that substantial negotiations have opened with each of the star's people this week. "Obviously, there is still a lot to be worked out contractually, but it would be amazing to get this project off the ground," the unnamed source said in OK!. "There is no doubt that fans cannot wait to see them all reunited."
